I have mixed feelings on this. What this lady did wasn't very nice but it
wasn't very threatening or malicious either. She made some posts to a
MySpace account and I'm sure that there are many people who post much worse
things to MySpace every day. There was certainly something wrong with this
girl if she was willing to commit suicide over something that was simply
posted on MySpace.
It's not a black-or-white issue here. The lady who made the posts may be
partially responsible (single-digit percent) but if this girl is willing to
kill overself over some posts on MySpace then she certainly wasn't very
stable. Eventually someone, somewhere would have said or done something
worse to her and there's a good chance she would have done this eventually.

I don't think you're considering the feelings and horror induced in the
girl enough. She's 13, going through puberty and has been embarrassed in what
she sees as the whole world. Certainly all her friends/enemies and
acquaintances would be made aware of the posts.
Yes, of course she was unstable. But aren't we all to a degree?
Especially at that age.
I feel the woman should have been sentenced to community service to
campaign against cyber bullying especially where children are
concerned. This woman was directly responsible for the girls death -
albeit a small % chance of it happening. Should she go to prison? No. It
was however a cruel and insensitive thing to do to someone who did not
deserve it.

She knew the girl had emotional issues and she took advantage of
them.
This wasn't just playing around, it was well calculated and
meant to cause distress to the poor girl.

may have been unfortunate.
If you try to seek and assign blame, perhaps you could go back in the older
woman's life, and find someone. Then you could find that someone, and the
someone that influenced him/her. You can seek recursively, and then perhaps
you can dig up graves, and torture old grave sites, and bones. Look beyond
that and you could blame dirt, and minerals. Keep searching ...
I desire instead to show the woman that was judged and went to trial some
compassion. She does need to suffer, and she already suffers. She will
suffer and cycle until she learns, and none of us can help her learn.

impossible.

Steve is still obsessed with the past... and he *hates* that I was able to
easily pull together such evidence of his girlfriend's wrong doing. That was
gathered to show to the authorities - and it worked, she was forced to stop
posting for quite some time and never really started up again.
