The Mac wins by 1.1 lbs!

Have at it boys.

The Dell really doesn't stand a chance. It's unfair to compare it to a
Mac, really.

They count the Dell's native resolution as being better - but it completely
depends on what resolution a user would want to use.

Sure, many folks in CSMA likely knew that. And others may not have. Heck,
I can make guesses as to some of the technological incompetents in CSMA who

It is pretty amazing isn't it? Of course, at this point, no side is
willing to even try and be reasonable, and if one isn't careful, one

I am reasonable in my comments. The only thing I do that one could call

Fascinating differences, presented very nicely. Lots of factors
considered, mostly clear comparisons.

The size difference is huge, the weight difference is pretty big, too.
Why didn't he address the case materials? That means a lot to me.

I wish someone would tell me why Sonic MusicMatch is better than
iTunes, or why the nVidia card is better than the ATI.

The backup utility isn't really an advantage, because you don't do it
the same way on a Mac, and it's easier to do backups in the first
place.

The Office applications are significant, but mostly for new users or
user changing operating systems.

Except they should have compared with the M90, aimed at a
similar demographic. Inspiron (note the typo on the link above)
is crap for the el cheapo home user crowd.

> The size difference is huge, the weight difference is pretty big, too.

.6" in thickness is a fair amount, but the weight is what really
matters, unless you're trying to shove the case up someone's ass
sideways.

> Why didn't he address the case materials? That means a lot to me.

That is an important issue, as well as overall construction
quality not related to the material, ergonomics, port layout,
the power adapter magnetic thingy, etc.

> I wish someone would tell me why Sonic MusicMatch is better than

Those are called opinions. :-)

> The Office applications are significant, but mostly for new users or

WordPerfect 12 is not significant. It's only on there because
Dell can install for about 50 cents a copy. It's been basically
nonexistent for over a decade. OpenOffice is a better choice.
The typical windows user will actually spring another $150 or so
for the real office.

Well, it isn't a COMMON task, but when you need to do it, it's gonna
make the job so much easier.

I know much of the case engineering is just too technical for casual
comparison; too bad, since it matters in several ways.
I am really glad someone did something about the power plug. That's one
of those small things that really deserves those small tidbits in pres
articles.

> > I wish someone would tell me why Sonic MusicMatch is better than

Maybe, but they must be based on something.
If someone can't specify why they have an opinion, it isn't worth
listening to.
I find iTunes' tagging and sorting and playlist options fantastic, and
it can do so much more than what people typically know of.
I'm assuming someone would quantify the difference in video cards, or
that support for a specific technology would tip the scales a bit.

I didn't mean as a single product, but because it was a difference from
the Mac package. I never much got into WordPerfect, even when it was
free.
