Well, theoretically you teach. In practice you troll. Exclusivly
Thsi naturally does not leave any time for "teaching". So your are an
unemployed (and unemployable) "teacher"
And /take/ any of *your* classes? I could not forget enough to qualify for
your level of "classes"

Here we go again. Snot trying to establish another round of his Snot circus
Guys, just don't respond too much to this cretin. Talk *about* Snot, make
fun about this clueless dimwit, but please don't talk *to* Snot too much,
as he will fail every time to respond to challenges to his idiotic claims
and instead claim that *he* was trolled (and, naturally, insulted) and
tries to install his merry-go-round

That's known as the distribution dance.
It's a well known excuse that the Linux advocates use to account for
Linux's problems.
The real problem is, if distribution 1 has problems with A but works
with B and C: Distribution 2 may work with A and have problems with B
and C.
It's a never ending quest for the perfect, or near perfect, distribution
which does not exist yet.
----
TheLetterK replied:
-----
Or they could just use distribution 3 that does A, B, and C well.
Perhaps they should have stated what they wanted to do and asked for
recommendations *before* making a blind guess.
-----
So I responded by doing as TLK suggested - I asked about a distro and named
my "A, B, and C"
-----
Say I want a Linux distro for an average user (someone with basic skills
such as how to work with the mouse and basic windowing skills) and they
want to be able to have:
* e-mail: should work well with attachments, including showing attached
images well, preferably with a slide show and the ability to send the
images to an image organization tool
* work with sound, images, movies, and the like to be able to build
movies, slideshows, playlists, etc. This should be in an integrated
system so the user should not have to worry about where resources are
saved.
* Not have to learn multiple save dialogs and otherwise have a
consistent interface (relatively speaking, need not be perfect)
* Surf the web with a browser with tabs, spell check, integrated search,
private browsing, and other common needs
* Not be subjected to obscure and arcane command line gobbledegook even
as it loads and shuts down (though this should be available for
troubleshooting)
* The user should be able to find computers running this OS in a local
store (in general) so they can test it before they commit
* Basic OS conventions should be met: program names visible and in a
consistent place, window titles not cut off by default, etc.
* There should be basic services such as spelling, search, address book,
image library with albums, music library with playlists, etc.
* I should run common commercial software such as MS Office and
Photoshop Elements without having to jump through hoops
-----
I did as requested... and watch how the Linux advocates react as they fail
to find a distro. I would have preferred if they *had* been able to point
me to one. It is a shame they cannot.
What is funny is some are claiming this shows I know Linux well enough to
know those things are not likely, and others claim this shows I do not know
Linux at all. Nobody, other than Kier, has been willing to stand up and
just admit that when "A, B, and C" are laid out that they cannot find a
distro to match the needs (though *some* can be met easily).
For the record: OS X meets those needs quite well.

For the record: it is quite evident that you carefully crafted your
requirements in a way that they could only be satisfied by Mac OS X.
I "crafted" them to meet the needs of the users in question. And, yes, it
is likely that OS X meets those needs better than any distro of Linux... and
certain that it does a better job than Windows - at least XP. Likely Vista
as well, but that remains to be seen.

The problem with someone like Mr Glasser is the same as it is with Mr
Wong, even if he were to be honest now, it would be impossible to
determine where the honesty starts and the usual dishonesty ends. In my

Mr Glasser could "cry wolf" over and over now, and I would not come to

Mark Kent is one of the most conceited, arrogant self loving dickwads
ever to post to Usenet. How sad can you get?
"waste my time".
LOL. What a lightweight.
I agree.
This group would make a great psychological study.
A person could track some of the advocates, say Mark Kent and Roy Culley,
from when they first started posting in COLA up until the present.
What they would find is that as they became more entrenched in Linux, they
also have become more paranoid, mean, strange and just plain anti-social.
Most of those guys started out as decent posters but have now become total
whack jobs.
The pattern is an obvious one to anyone who has been here for a few years
and it seems directly related to Linux advocacy gone wild.
Hey, what a great idea!!

Nahhhh...there is nothing wild about compiling a kernel.
It's actually quite boring.

Such as? If you think I have failed to support a claim of mine, especially
an accusation, then select one. I have supported specific accusations
against you in the past, such as when I have shown that you act in a
juvenile way and alter people's online names and when you lied about posting
to CSMA. Both are very well supported... do you want me to repost the
evidence *again*?
One problem with trolls such as you is you repeatedly ask me to support my
claims *and* you whine that I post as much as I do. In other words there is
no pleasing you.
But, at your request, I shall happily do a bit of Googling and repost the
support of my claims of your lies and your immature behavior. Neither would
be hard to find.

He dishonestly, however, claimed I believed the metaphor was real.
Well, he think's the files he is working with are 'in' the program.
I have not stated that the files are *actually* in the program, only that
from that from the user perspective they "are". Then again, files are not
really "in" folders, either, though from the user perspective they are.
Note how you do not comment on the many, many lies of Rick's I pointed out.
Here is just a small sampling:
* Rick tries to dishonestly tie the concepts of CMYK to the concepts of
novice users: <pan.2006.11.29....@trollfeed.com> and again here:
<pan.2006.11.29....@trollfeed.com> where he also tries to
connect the concept of those same users with Dreamweaver, as though novice
users need Dreamweaver. He shows more of his misunderstanding here:
<12mrbhu...@news.supernews.com>
* In response to a quote about how people react to too many option and my
comments in relation to Linux, Rick went off topic, spewed comments about
Mac market share he imagined was a "dig", and then snipped and ran instead
of offering anything of value. This can be seen in these posts:
<pan.2006.11.26....@trollfeed.com>
<pan.2006.11.26....@trollfeed.com>
<pan.2006.11.26....@trollfeed.com>

<pan.2006.11.26....@trollfeed.com>
<pan.2006.11.27....@trollfeed.com>
Heck, read the whole exchange between Rick and I in this very thread and you
can see me pointing out example after example of his lies, ignorance,
immature attempts at "digs" and even his stated wish that I die. One thread
and he does all of that.
Etc. Rick is, frankly, as useless of a troll as you are.

Peter, please do not try to get me sucked back into your silly trolling BS.
The fact that you are an angry lying troll is no secret. Remember when you
used to deny posting to CSMA but the Google record proved you a liar:

Your response.

Or remember when you made the asinine claim my offering multiple examples:
Message-Id: <pan.2005.07.10....@rapskat.com>
rapskat: Care to provide an example of this?
Message-ID: <BEF6E451.2383C%SN...@CABLE0NE.NET.INVALID>
Snit: Sure. [two examples]

Peter: So your defintion of "often" is "two"
My, what amusing lies you told with that little caper. Your method of
trolling is quite juvenile and pathetic. It really is not that hard to
point out your games and cause you to go running away from arguments. You
then resort to name calling, dishonestly snipping, etc. You are a pretty
typical troll... though you are more angry than most.

And yet many in both CSMA and, now, COLA, not only claim they need support
for it, they *deny* it and claim they do not believe it is.
I believe this was added to the list when Tim Adams made the perverted claim
that he believed incest was "identical" to sex but then denied that sex,
based on his words, was "identical" to incest.
Of course, they are *not* identical, synonymous, things that equate, etc...
but there are perverts who claim they do.

You sure do anger easily... spewing your silly names, making absurd
accusations, and in general just making an ass out of yourself. I shall
remind you what made you sink to this - not because it will help you to
cease your trolling, I do not believe anything can - but so you can see how
pathetic you are.

TheLetterK replied:

"wow" is right.... you're obviously really jonesin' to post now that
only 2-3 people talk to you anymore... you're so hard up you're
responding to Köhlmann posts from 2006. LOL!

I posted these in response to comments of Peter's today. He accused me of
lying. I challenged him to post support... and showed I can easily support
the fact he is a liar.
Just like you!

I do piss off a lot of trolls such as you and Peter. Call it a public
service. :)

Thanks for admitting to it. Maybe if you'd stop lying people wouldn't
point it out so often.
