HPT repeatedly threatens to contact someone's employer

repeatedly threatened to contact my employer and make false accusations of
libel. If anyone has any examples of HPT doing this in other instances,
please send me information in email. I have contacted the police and they
are looking into this, but added information could only help. I will not,
of course, speak of details in this forum.
Any information might be of benefit.

I have explained this in the past, but will do so again:
It is clear that a well thought out and consistent UI is a benefit to
user... when users have minimal arbitrarily inconsistency in their print
dialogs and save dialogs and color selectors and text services and common
menu items and common hot keys, etc., they are able to be more efficient,
they make fewer errors, and they report greater satisfaction.
Some in COLA have claimed to have reasons to not want this on their own
desktop. Fine. I support them having that choice. But why reject others
choices? Why not support the idea of other users (and distro managers, of
course) having the ability to build such systems.
I really do not understand why one would be against such choice. Please,
HPT, do explain your disagreement.

I would prefer that the whole "incident" end here. This is beyond silly.
This whole thing has grown from a disagreement as to whether or not the
overwhelming evidence of UI consistency is accurate (I say it is) and
whether or not people should have the choice to have such consistency, even
if others do not value or even understand it (I say they should).
Frankly that such a debate would escalate as it now has is just absurd.

What restriction of choice do you think I am supporting? From a post
earlier today, where I was asked to explain my views again:

While I think there is value in cross-computer consistency,
that is not the type of consistency I am talking about. I am
talking consistency *within* a system... so that if a user is
using multiple programs on their computer they can have the
same common dialogs (such a print and save), the same common
hot keys and menu items (such as print and save and quit and
find... some of that is already somewhat standardized), the
same common tools (such as color selectors and text
services).
This should not be immutable: if a user has a need for a
different color selector in one program, for example, *of
course* they should be able to select that - though such
options likely would not be apparent to the general user (or
they might... and it might be different in different
distros!)
If desktop Linux matured to this level, as it likely at least
largely will, then Distro A could have print and save dialogs
which were very, very simple - no clutter or side tasks
included in the dialogs. Disto B, however, could have
dialogs with every feature under the sun: Save dialogs with
options to rename and move and delete files, for example, or
to have the ability to convert print jobs to PDFs and send
the output to other programs in the Print dialog.
These choices - that the distro manager and the end user can
make - would be seen in KDE and Gnome software and in other
software as well (or, really, *could* - remember, they are
not mandated in any way).
Now I am under no illusion that someone can pull a magic
switch and make this happen and have it effect older
software. That is not, likely, possible. But if KDE and
Gnome got together and came up with some method of having
this level of interoperability and provide it in a way that
is easy for developers, then you can bet most developers of
current software would jump on board - I strongly believe
developers *want* their software to be as usable as
reasonably possible. Clearly this would be a benefit to
usability.
Some software, of course, would never be migrated to the
unified UI API (or whatever). So be it. I do not expect
that any OS will have 100% consistency or 100% perfect
usability... there will always be changes and growth in UI
standards and concepts that developers should in no way be
discouraged from working with to fit someone else's idea of
what is best.

I second that... but, realistically, so long as the posts have been
shown to have been written by long time readers of csma (and a few
from cola) it matters not how the collection of quotes came to light
(which is why Snit tends to focus on it in a feeble attempt to
discredit it). His other feeble tactic is to pretend that the person
whom he accuses of collecting the quotes (me) has an even worse record
in this regard. As I'm sure you've seen, he ludicrously parades his
quotes list that contains quotes that he *alleges* were written about
me. Of course, as to be expected from Snit, there are no attributions

Ah, yes: a whole range of accusations about me that cannot be proved
because, clearly, they are not true. And, yes, trolls *hate* when I prove
my points so they spew the accusations you and Carroll just spewed... then
blame *me* by calling it *my* circus.
Face it: if you could have proved I forged documents, for example, you would
have. Carroll is in reference to a couple of PDFs I used to prove Sandman
was lying - and after Carroll and others accused me of forging the data I
was able to provide links to *every* data point I referenced. Everyone.
Then the claim moved to somehow the data was fine (hence it was accepted
that Sandman was a liar, but Steve would never say that) and the way the PDF
was *made* because the topic. It was bizarrely claimed that a WebKit
enabled tool I used to automate the collection and collating of web info
somehow lead to the PDF being a *forgery*. When that fell flat I let on
that when a page was not available I even spliced in the data later to
ensure accuracy (keep in mind *all* the data was available online).
Assuring accuracy, though, to Steve Carroll implies "forgery".
Ah the twisted "logic" of Carroll... the very "logic" you will pretend to
accept so that you can cuddle with Carroll. You can pretend you are stupid
enough to buy his BS... but I simply do not accept that you are *that*

Nope, but as Jeff correctly notes below, in the quote that you used, my
health concerns are brought to CSMA and COLA. Steve Carroll went to another
forum, a *health support* forum where I discussed my health concerns, and he
tried to embarrass me by bringing them to CSMA and COLA and openly lying
about me. As is his norm. Much later, he did more than just copy info from
the support forum, he started spewing his BS back into that forum, where he
was told his BS was not believed... Trolls such as you and he are not
tolerated in groups other than CSMA and COLA. After it was clear *nobody*
in the other group would even pretend to believe his garbage he stopped
spewing it. At least from what I have seen...
