Though I have no real need to use Android apps on my PC, I thought I'd
fool with some emulators.

I've got Blue Stacks on my Windows machine and Anbox on my Linux machine

This philo is a troll, and this thread is, IMHO, a troll.

Any effort you waste on trying to "help" this philo troll

You can install Android on a virtual machine.

BlueStacks does a decent job on Windows. Slow but usable.

Anbox on Linux, a bit too slow to be useful.

Only doing this as an experiment though , no real need to run Android
apps on a PC

Carlos,

This "philo" troll didn't even search before posting its credibility troll.

Anyone who searched would know I've posted a tutorial each for every single known free Android emulator for Windows, for example.

But this troll didn't search because, IMHO, this isn't really a question.
o It's just a credibility troll from it, this "philo" troll.

You wasted your valuable time, IMHO, trying to help it.
o Because it is not interested in the question.

Don't you even notice how little effort it put into the question.
o I do.

It did nothing.
o And it's real payload is its infantile politics, Carlos.

Don't believe me?
o OK, you don't have to believe me.

But do you believe what this troll does to other newsgroups?
o Want proof?

Note: It almost always posts in concert with the "Bob F", "T", and "micky" trolls, along with quite a few other of its very many infantile socks.

These are facts this "philo" troll can't possibly deny...
o Let it try.

These are infantile political trolls by the "philo" troll...

Go away troll.
o Go away.

Does anyone notice a few things about this "philo" troll that I do?
a. It is a common infantile political troll (see facts below)
b. It asks a question that is fabricated out of absolutely nothing
c. It doesn't even _care_ about the answer as that's not its point
d. It then throws hurdle after hurdle after hurdle into the answer
e. The result being people waste their valuable time on this troll
f. It's "toying" with us.

Any time spent on this "philo" troll is wasted
o Worse, it's time _not_ spent helping a real human being.

Note these trolls from this troll, which is the fate of our newsgroup
o Notice that it (this "philo" troll) posted that crap as recent as today!
These are infantile political trolls by the "philo" sock puppet master:
o The *nothingburger* is growing exponentially
If this "philo" troll disputes the facts above...
o Let it try

As they are facts it can't dispute.

BlueStacks needs resources. It runs great on a fast machine with 16G of
memory or more. It's actually designed for games and gamers definitely
wouldn't put up with a slow app.

There are lots of Android apps that aren't available in Windows.
SmartNews is one I like. Many apps will run full screen, but
unfortunately many don't. But I find using BlueStacks easier than having
to dig out my Chromebook.

Both my machines have 16 gigs of RAM.
I am not a gamer.

The app I'm using is a photo editing program Pixlr.
I have quite a few photo editing programs already, but it never hurts to have one more.

I run Android-x86 in a VMware VM. It is not slow at all for me and my uses.

I tried it on a Core i7 with a discrete graphics chip and 16GB of RAM.
"Slow but usable" ia accurate! Perhaps on a Core i9 with 32GB of RAM it
would be faster.

One of these days I'll build a new machine with a better CPU.
I find Win10 performance in general to be inconsistent...but for the jobs I'm doing most...pretty good actually.

I just set Photoshop to do a batch process converting 500 .png to .jpeg and the machine didn't balk one bit.

And Android? Which is what this newsgroup is about.

That may well be the case with whichever OS you use.

But why use a dinosaur like Photoshop for such a simple
task when lightweight s/w like Irfanview does the same
perfectly and sometimes even better?

I love IrfanView.
I've sent Irfan several donations.

Runs great under WINE in Linux.

One thing though, that I like about Photoshop though, are the fine adjustments I can make in the print preview.

Still...many features of Irfanview are considerably easier to use than with Photoshop.

That is why I have so many photo editing programs installed.

Ok.
You have convinced me to give that a try.

I already have a handful of operating systems in virtual machines including EcomStation and SCO Unix.

After years of using Linux , I was given an old SCO server in order to perform a data recovery.

Oh man was that something. Any hardware change required a kernel recompile.
At least that was an automated process.

If you can run Android in a VM, you can certainly snap a screenshot.

Given this "philo" troll is bullshitting us (IMHO), just wasting our time
o I simply ask of this "philo" troll (from the REPAIR ng) a simple request

To this "philo" troll from the HOME REPAIR newsgroup cesspool...
o Prove you didn't just fabricate this thread and waste our valuable time.

Prove you're not just toying with us, "philo".
o Let's see a screenshot, dated today, philo.
