One of the many things I warned about here years ago was that if Trump
became president we would likely get the answers to a lot of questions,
decisions by courts, that we really don't need, that could impede the
legitimate powers of the office for future presidents. Fortunately, I
think that mostly has not happened.

But this Twitter ban is a prime example of that kind of thing. We've
been brought to a very stupid, bad place by the actions of Trump.
And now there is another divisive shit show. Was it right? Was it
wrong? It will stir up his base, they will claim it's the deep state
silencing the great Donald Trump who is fighting for freedom.
It may spur new legislation, new consequences. Already some
Republicans are coming to his defense, that Twitter should not have
done this. But why are we here? Only because of one despicable man.

I am now satisfied.

Though Trump should be prosecuted and will be facing many lawsuits...the
very worst punishment for hi is being banned from Twitter.

A few years too late but...

Yes, the insurrectionists need a channel to plan and plot with others.

Have you tried it this morning? Monday, January 11.

Looks like something is amiss as it will not connect. They also messed
it up on phone or tablet by not giving or updating the ap.

I just heard of gab.com and have signed up there. Also a free speech site.

I knew the libs were coming for the 2nd amendment and did not expect the
1st to be far behind. Looks like I got the order of attack reversed.

Twitter is a private-sector corporation. They are not obligated to provide
a platform for speech they don't like. You can't go to Walmart and
say any damned thing you please, either.

But that's not the "America" that F'ingRank wants, where corporations
get to decide what knids of speach they allow.

If they were banning Biden, he would be all for it.

Most people are finally waking up to the damage being done to the world by the CCP.  Millions of us just learned a hard lesson.

I suspect there are 80,000,000 conservatives/libertarians that are now looking to replace their Apple/Android phones, twitter, Fecesbook, yootoobe, google and maybe Amazon.

Maybe even the leftist college grads will wake up when twitter/youtoobe/google censors them?

Trouble is that there is nothing viable to replace those with.

And with most of those except google too.

Trouble is where will they go ?

Who to believe? It is alleged none of the identified 'domestic
terrorists' had a presence on Parler and any planning was done on FarceBook.

The app was removed from both the Google and Apple stores. At least on
Android you can sideload an apk; Apple has you right by the balls.

I've been on Gab since its beta days. It appears to be having
difficulties at the moment but that may be from trying to bring servers
online to handle the exponential growth.

Gab has been around since 2016 with Parler starting up in 2018. It was
very lonely until given a boost by Republican talking heads.

The libs aree operating in much friendlier territory when they suppress
free speech. Driving dissident sites off the internet is nothing new but
it was pariahs like Andrew Anglin. The rest of the alt-right didn't like
him so they didn't care and the general population never had heard of him.

After practice runs on the small fish they are upping their game.

True. However if Twitter, Google, Amazon, Apple, and FaceBook coordinate
in restraint of trade it's another matter.

https://www.npr.org/2020/10/06/920882893/how-are-apple-amazon-facebook-google-monopolies-house-report-counts-the-ways

"These four corporations increasingly serve as gatekeepers of commerce
and communications in the digital age, and this gatekeeper power gives
them enormous capacity to abuse that power," a lawyer for the
subcommittee's Democratic majority said in a briefing with reporters."

The report is out there; let's see what Biden does with it. The
Republicans disagreed, of course, chanting the usual mantra of free
enterprise and glorious capitalism. Maybe they had a change of heart or
maybe they think they can suck up and not get purged.

Good grief! Is there ANYTHING on this globe you are NOT willing to babble
endlessly about, senile gossip?
