AIT聲明：未來難與台灣擴展經貿

立法院上午通過「食品衛生管理法第11條條文修正案」，美國在台協會台北辦事處(AIT/T)發表聲明指出，美國遺憾立法院決定限制美國牛肉進口，單邊
中止雙邊議定書，也破壞台灣身為負責任貿易夥伴的誠信，將使美方未來很難與台灣擴展與強化雙邊未來的經貿關係。

AIT新聞科長萬德福發表聲明表示，立法院單邊中止基於正直、誠意而達成的雙邊議定書，特別令人失望的是，美國長期以來都是台灣最重要的貿易與投資夥
伴，強力支持台灣積極參與全球貿易體系，此舉將使美國未來難與台灣擴展雙邊經貿關係。

萬德福說，有鑑於雙方合作的情誼與雙邊經濟關係的重要地位，美國將敦促台灣遵守承諾，履行議定書協議，美國貿易代表與農業部也將於華盛頓發表共同聲
明。

立法院修法內容部份牴觸台美牛肉議定書，引發美方強烈不滿，經濟部長施顏祥以及經貿官員先後證實，原本預定恢復召開的TIFA（台美貿易暨投資架構協
定）次長會議因而延後。

據了解，相關部會正密切注意加拿大向世界貿易組織（WTO）控告韓國不准加拿大牛肉進口的事件發展，因為它可能會決定未來有關各國對牛肉進口限制的條
件。
