"Blue moon you saw me standing alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own
Blue moon you knew just what I was there for
You heard me saying a prayer for
Someone I really could care for”
(Rodgers and Hart)

Though I had remembered it as
“Blue moon you left me standing alone there”

Anyway, tonight’s full moon is a blue moon (second full moon
in a calendar month) and supermoon (it is closer to the
Earth and appears larger than usual).

I wish good romance to any readers involved in a relationship.

Then there is the Cowboy Junkies Blue Moon Revisited (Song For Elvis)

David Dalton, why in the world would you think your post was so significant (and universal) as to cross post it to:
alt.religion.druid, alt.music.s-mclachlan, alt.arts.poetry.comments, alt.atheism, alt.philosophy.taoism, and alt.buddha.short.fat.guy? You are a spammer.

I would like your post if I were a member of alt.religion.druid, or perhaps, and astronomy group. It's not the sort of post I come to a poetry group to read.

That said, with the expenditure of only a little time and effort, you could turn this post into something I would like to read.

"Blue Moon" is one of my favorite songs, and were you to present it to us as a "poem" for discussion, it could become something I would very much like reading.

All you would need to do is to explain *why* you feel it should be discussed as a poem (as well as a song). What elements make it something more than just a song lyric? Can the lyric stand on its own as written verse? Why?

The moon and love are both traditional topics for poetry -- what poems (if any) does "Blue Moon" draw on, or allude to? Does the blue moon hold any significance for lovers in Druidism? etc.

I would much rather discuss your views on what makes "Blue Moon" a poem, than to click on links to famous poems (as one of our group's biggest trolls is well known for doing).

The bottom line is: if you wish to discuss poetry here, we shall look forward to discussing it with you. But if you're just here to make off-topic cross-posts, we would pr-efer that you remove alt.arts.poetry.comments from your spam list.

Hello David, the version I remember best is the Bob Dylan cover, for one thing it was one of the first Dylan songs I heard, back in the early 1970s:

We don't see the logic that "crossposting is better than multiposting." Better for you or better for the groups that you send the messages to?

Why would you think that it was a good idea to send the message "Justin Trudeau is not gay" and some ramblings to TWENTY-SIX groups on August 15?

We wonder why there is only one rhyme in the first stanza of the song, and the last word in the last three lines is "for."

Mr. Dalton appears to think that his name should appear in many groups. Blame it on the moon.

You were there the entire time defending Dance as if he wasn't doing a single wrong thing. You never once defended your so called "Usenet friend" while I did defend him against Dance's attacks.
Shall I show your friend David exactly what Dance did to another of your "Usenet friends" and you were there doing nothing but defending (hand waving) what Dance was doing?
Both you and Dance troll goose stepped into that mess that you made of your reps-- and all in blind desperation to get at me.

Jesus is the everlasting Father, Jesus is God, Jesus is the Lord.

Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were
YET sinners, Christ died for us.

Jeremiah 10:23 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it
is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

Psalms 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt
are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that
hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

"To seek your own will is to seek your own glory."

"If God is not first in everything He is not first in anything."

"What makes the bible the truth? The resonance of God."

"All men were born sinners. Why? Because all men were born not loving
God with all their heart, soul, and mind. An abomination. Therefore,
sin is not what you do; it is what you are."

"Compromise will condemn you."

"There are no sinners in Christ Jesus."

"My sons are born of Me. In them is no darkness at all."

"You can't learn righteousness. Haven't you had enough time already to
know that?"

"The way of truth is the testimony of life."

"I merely speak the truth, what is revealed to me, and the cards fall
where God intends."

"Nothing that is produced is produced without first being faith."

"You can only find proof of God through faith because that is how we all
live, by faith."

"It is not what you do that matters, it is how you treat Me."

"Keep going forward. Forget about the past. Lift up your head, look
ahead."

"You cannot be free and free indeed with guilt in your heart."

"Priority is everything."

"The truth doesn't need evidence, it is evidence."

"There is no greater possession a man has than his own will, to squander
it or to place it where it truly belongs."

"An atheist is a fool who thinks truth is found in living a lie."

"Saying "prove it" [as a foundation] is merely an ignorant straw man, to
an ignorant straw man."

"Wait, rest, be still, and know."

"No man can wash his own hands!!!"

"I find this in the Christianity religions: 'Nobody's perfect' they say,
and they use that as an excuse not to do what is perfect."

The Atheist: "They don't believe and put their faith in a Creator (the
obvious). So no evidence and proof is to be found!!"

"The world is the way it is because God can't compromise who He is."

"Man is not the centre of being."

"Man is incompatible with the natural world because of his sinful nature."

"And then the Lord said, "I see everything."

"Man has no greater idol than his own will."

"Where is God hiding? He isn't."

"If you don't keep all the scriptures, you can't keep any of them."

"You can't prove anything because everything depends on a person's
willingness to believe."

"Atheists are ultimately trying to be pointlessness, meaninglessness,
and purposelessness in their point, meaning, and purpose."

"The last day of creation will be the last day of time. God is always
full of hope."

"The veil of the temple was rent in twain, not to have a book pass
through it so that you could play God."

"A phylactery does not a heart for God make. Not back then, and not today."

"No one in heaven is better (or higher) than what makes it heaven. Such
is the love of God."

"The definition of an atheist: A man full of bluster and bullshit
pretending he is the meaning of life."

"Free will is not power; it is the choice that I allow; that choice is
still according to my power," says the Lord.

What does a fool do? A fool looks for a "nothing" in a "something" in
order to explain the existence of existence.

"Unless you do all because He is who He is, all your religion is in vain."

"Every man is subject to God; He judges every man, and He is reality.
What a gift in a fallen world!"

"Love MUST be a choice or it is nothing but a law!"

"Why were all men born sinners? So that God could reveal Himself, so
that we would behold the glory of God, and that we should bring forth
the glory of God"

"God does not and will not arbitrate for any man to love Him! If God
isn't everything to you, He is nothing to you where the rubber meets the
road."

"It is the unforgivable sin not to love God with all your heart, soul,
and mind, because what do you have that is lasting? It is not so much
being punished, it is what you are left with."

"Love isn't worth anything without first a free will choice for God to
birth it in a man."

"The point of salvation: Desperation. Anything less than that is
self-righteousness."

"A sinner is not a believer in God, a sinner is a believer in sin."

"A piece of dirt is not the promised land; that is only a reflection.
The promised land is knowing Me, says the Lord."

Most of those groups are ultra low traffic, and I posted to many
of them to gather the readers among them. The post was
on-topic for most of the groups. And the main point of the
post was that Justin Trudeau is a lesbianT, or transgendered
lesbian, or spiritually lesbian in male form, and thus is
compatible with and attractive to both bifs and lesbians
(in his species, if the species split has occurred, but
if not in his species they might remember past attraction).

Also some have been speculating that Justin’s marriage
breakup and his wearing pink to Barbie might be a
sign that he is gay, and I wanted to say that that was
not the case, he is lesbianT, and even if I am wrong in
that he is an ally to the LGBT community.

By my soul's exhilaration, and this article - https://www.space.com/biggest-full-moon-of-2023, the actual super blue was a noon and what every one was watching was the waning super blue moon, as my fading afterglow let me know. Luna, Selene, is my mistress after all...
It will happen again in 2037.
I only saw something about Saturn being aligned though-- https://www.countryliving.com/life/a44787970/full-blue-moon-2023/

Also did you know that most of Uranus' moons are named after Shakespeare characters? The rest after Alexander Pope's iirc.

Go to hell, you self-appointed moderator of an unmoderated
group. If you don’t want to see my posts, put me in your
killfile, or just skip them. There are at least a few long term
regulars who do want to see my posts and at least a couple

Will Dockery and crew are not "regulars" -- they are trolls who disrupt the group 24/7 with spamposts, reciprocal slurpages, and imbecilic "Hello" posts to "Jordy."

If you're here to help them turn AAPC into an intellectual wasteland, we've no need of you. Begone!

My friends and I participate in the Official AAPC Poetry Journal, "A Year of Sundays" (from which your trolling has gotten you permanently banned). We critique one another's poetry in the Critic's Corner thread, and discuss poetry in On-Topic threads (like NancyGene's recent thread asking us what poem we think to have been the most significant in the past 200 years -- and why).

You, otoh, bump your old poetry to the top of the feed, graciously receive canned slurps from the General, and say "hello" to "Jordy" 24 times a day.

It's basically just the previous Guidelines with a few slight modifications to prevent trolls from burying the group in "hello" posts, reciprocal slurps, and necro-bumps.

One can see why a troll would be opposed to it.

Bogus guidelines which include the original FAQ that you fools promoted in oppostion
You just want anyone telling you to moderate your posting to avoid crowding out the others that you're desperately trying to be part of, and to keep things on topic for a group created for more detailed commentary on poetry that a simple poetry posting group expects of its posters.
A truly legitimate poetry group wouldn't have you because of your selfish behavior.
So let us wail the elegy for Usenet poetry, smothered by the selfishness of poetry spammers...

> And so it goes.

Yes it does, you and apparently David, just treating me and this group of other poets as just your captive audience for you to constantly spam your work to, now matter how old and ignored, and to bury the work of the rest of us in a "not a popularity contest" competition* to always have their threads at the top in desperate bid for the attention of the silent audience that may not even exist.

* your editor of your "garbage" poetry opinion of others taunted us that we had to keep bumping our work to keep up with you.

"The space agency defines a blue moon as the second full moon in a single month. The phrase "once in a blue moon" happens on average every two-and-a-half years.
According to NASA scientists, about 25% of all full moons are supermoons, while only 3% of full moons are blue moons. The occurrence of super blue moons is irregular and can span up to 20 years, with an average of 10 years."
Plus some stunning images (or at least they tell me, i cannot tell really) of the super blue moon as it was seen around the world:

Sorry Pendragon, but I resisted as long as I could...
But I got an atheist, a Christian, a Pagan, a idiot New Ager, a sodden Dharma Bum and a Communist to boot as my captive audience to fire brand!
"It is the fate of great achievements, born from a way of life that sets truth before security, to be gobbled up by you and excreted in the form of shit. For centuries great, brave, lonely men have been telling you what to do. Time and again you have corrupted, diminished and demolished their teachings; time and again you have been captivated by their weakest points, taken not the great truth, but some trifling error as your guiding principal. This, little man, is what you have done with Christianity, with the doctrine of sovereign people, with socialism, with everything you touch. Why, you ask, do you do this? I don't believe you really want an answer. When you hear the truth you'll cry bloody murder, or commit it."

And I was joking also, but I will not lighten up when it comes to the laughing matter of what became of Usenet poetry.
And with all these horrendous portents weighing upon me, I must hopelessly contend:
"I am now the most miserable man living. If what I feel were equally distributed to the whole human family, there would not be one cheerful face on the earth. Whether I shall ever be better I can not tell; I awfully forebode I shall not."
~~Abraham Lincoln, letter to John Stuart, 1841

I am a son of Man- an alpha and omega
Like Christ in crucified effigy
Born without consent into Sin condemning me
Against my wishes to perish like a beggar
Of my Father for mercy from his Revelations
At the callous hands of His creations

And I shall not fear the shadow
Of this valley I must persevere
To keep a path straight and narrow
Despite the judgement of my peers
To spite their slings and arrows
I will not falter, beg for their favor
So fickle unlike their love to harrow
Like they've done to their saviors.

The Red and the Blue
inveighing what is false or what is true.
of The Left or The Right
simplistic scales of black and white-
to weigh who are wrong and who are right.
While this will be considered 'preachy'
by those in favor of their own reverie,
misfortune's memory makes it not so easy
to ignore those lost to the treachery

That we were created by our Gods
and favored as Their chosen
awarded the Earth as ours
and despite Their Commandments
They seem unable to protect us
from Their very own creations

Our nations so pusillanimous
declared to be the greatest,
with blind freedoms so magnanimous
None saved us from the madness
of lives needlessly cut short
being slaughtered like simple animals

"Ancient fire, fill my raging heart
As I charge into the endless dark
Steel my will against what hell may come
I will not turn back, I know what must be done
Dying fire filled my anguished heart
As I fought against the endless dark
I broke my will against the hell that came
Relieve me of my charge, carry on the flame"

That through my bosom raves,

May waken long regret;
Their frightful screams, and piercing pains,
Will help me to forget."

Explain, if you can how putty words into others mouths (which you have yet to prove) is, aka "in other words", making things up. But I do love how much power you give my opinions, that they're facts! Or is it because they're right and it stings?

Dance saying that I'm applauding the murder of children. And his proof is a misrepresentation of a post sequence that he doctored to make it look like I was responding to what he inserted instead of what I was actually responding to-- just to make it look like I was applauding a new clip about a mass shooting.

Hello sWilly, you're slacking in your attempted laming and shaming-- we need this up top for everyone to see Dance's and your true faces...
I didn't say "All the World's a stage." The Bard doesn't own the concept that the World being Life's stage, it's a common concept and saying now, and he's not the only one among billions and centuries that could come up with that concept-- anyone not even knowing what he wrote could come up with that.
For those that think everything is a direct Shakespeare reference, there's more things in the World, armchairist, than you know in that narrow minded, self absorbed world view of yours.

"They do say that the World is a stage and so would be the venues of the Digital Age."

Funny how Will can express his opinion that other people's work is garbage, that the creators they like are nothing and excuse it as his opinion, but anyone's similar opinion of what he does is lies and misrepresentations. Why didn't Will label this from a defender of him as lies and misrepresentation:

"What annoys me is that you think your opinions are more important than Michael's or Ash's or even mine. Other people's opinions are just as important even if you don't agree with them. Ash and Michael are poetry lovers, and their opinions are valid. I don't like the way they belittle you, but sometimes you unwittingly egg them on. You don't need to get the last word in to validate yourself."

How about Dance's claims that I have a list of those I want to die, that I applaud the mass murder of school children, that someone wanted me to put Dance on it, that I said that Dance wanted trans people, the sick and elderly on? I can't remember all the whacked crap he spewed-- I'll gather it up and post it here.
