The New American Hefker: Alana Newhouse, Tikvah Whore of Trump
As America was grieving over the Lysol Insurrection, Alana Newhouse was sharpening her Hydroxychloroquine skills with the following deplorable articles posted on the day after the Trumpist Terrorism:
https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/american-crises-capitol-assault
https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/arts-letters/articles/angelo-codevilla
https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/great-american-break-up
https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/trump-and-the-joys-of-hatred
https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/new-truth-rationalism-religion
Before we discuss those Trumpist articles, it is critical for us to note the cleavage between the regnant Neo-Con Jewish leaders – Bill Kristol, Bret Stephens, and John Podhoretz – and what we are now seeing in Newhouse and The Tikvah Fund radicalism.
I have discussed the case of Kristol in the following article:
https://groups.google.com/g/davidshasha/c/63IW6MsVN7g/m/vckwcbfqAwAJ
To their everlasting credit, both Stephens and Podhoretz called for the removal of the current president in no uncertain terms:
https://groups.google.com/g/davidshasha/c/Ao4GxuiLm2g
https://groups.google.com/g/davidshasha/c/DqMRI1jAxlQ
Even the very wobbly David Brooks has excoriated the “Rotting of the Republican Mind”:
https://groups.google.com/g/davidshasha/c/aIaaqOjRANM/m/Q6k93mVRBwAJ
Indeed, we were truly shocked when the pro-Trump, ultra-Rightist Wall Street Journal editorial page called on the president to resign:
But, as we have seen, Tikvah has taken a different approach, and is working to reinforce the Republican Rot in the White Jewish Supremacy.
In my latest article on the Bastard Children of Zalman Bernstein I laid out the Muscular Christian Trumpism that has become the basic template of the group, led by Newhouse and her pitbull Liel Leibovitz and the Sephardi-eraser Rabbi Meir Soloveichik:
https://groups.google.com/g/davidshasha/c/gbgbI0HHmzk
Newhouse has aggressively taken to the current Tikvah method, providing an important signpost to where the Jewish Neo-Con reactionaries are going.
Here is a very partial list of my own attacks on her Lysol Loyalty, for those who are not up to speed on the matter:
https://groups.google.com/g/davidshasha/c/wQOD6AqDobo/m/hBlnpC84BQAJ
https://groups.google.com/g/davidshasha/c/z8wfQbgak-s/m/20-6BKZYAgAJ
https://groups.google.com/g/davidshasha/c/z8wfQbgak-s/m/20-6BKZYAgAJ
https://groups.google.com/g/davidshasha/c/S7zKwmHi_bk/m/9IlD4ElmAgAJ
Though in the context of her Neo-Con Trumpism it might be a minor detail, I have been taken by Newhouse’s promotion of Norman Doidge’s promotion of the Hydroxychloroquine scam and the Herd Immunity scam:
https://www.tabletmag.com/contributors/norman-doidge
And he is not even an epidemiologist, but a New Age psychiatrist – who needs his head examined.
Doidge the Dodger plague rhetoric was echoed by many in the Newhouse stable, none more offensive than her pathetic SY lackey Rabbi Richard Hidary in his classic article “Tractate Coronavirus”:
https://groups.google.com/g/davidshasha/c/SnVmRWO5JpM/m/AFYcLcKKBgAJ
With Newhouse you are either all in with the reactionary Right Wing program, or not allowed on the boat.
The first deplorable post-Insurrection article is from the deplorable Trumpist Neo-Con Michael Lind, whose aim is first to attack the anti-racist protests, as he moves on to throw up his hands and declare the end of American greatness:
On January 6, 2021, America’s elite abandoned another Capitol Hill to rioters. After President Donald Trump stirred them up in an incendiary address in which he claimed that Joe Biden had stolen the presidency from him, a mob of right-wing radicals broke into the United States Capitol, where the certification of the results of last November’s election results was taking place. Like the leaders of Seattle in June, America’s congressional leaders abandoned their posts and fled. In the ensuring chaos, the Trumpist rioters, mostly men wearing MAGA hats or more exotic outfits, posed for selfies in the well of the House chamber or in the legislative offices they broke into. Shots were fired, fatally killing a woman. Three others died as a result of “medical emergencies.” As in Seattle’s Capitol Hill, so in America’s: The forces of legitimate authority and coercive order for a period were nowhere to be seen.
There is here, as we recently saw with the deplorable Avi Weiss, a false moral equivalence which brings us to Seattle with a FOX-like laser focus:
https://www.foxnews.com/media/seattle-chop-violence-media-insisted-peaceful
But more than that, the idea behind the article is that “elites” – apparently an amorphous group comprising Left and Right politicians and corporate leaders – have “abandoned” our society to “rioters.” There is no distinction made between the groups and their methods and motivations.
It sounds a lot like Governor Reagan circa 1966:
https://www.berkeley.edu/news/media/releases/2004/06/08_reagan.shtml
Indeed, the article is filled with PILPUL that makes David Brooks look like a Maimonidean.
Like Brooks, the Neo-Con radical Lind, who has for some time been closely adhering to the Trumpist line, deploys numbers and social science gobbledygook that continues to promote the false Left-Right equivalence.
But also to promote his book:
What is to be done? I have my own thoughts about how to build a new America in the ruins of the one that has collapsed, which I discuss in my book The New Class War: Saving Democracy from the Managerial Elite and elsewhere. But the painstaking reconstruction of the United States, if it takes place, will be the work of several generations and the challenge is not one to be met by ten-point plans and Powerpoints. First we must agree on the causes of the collapse of the latest in a series of historic American regimes. To that discussion, this essay is a contribution.
And, like Brooks, he is a very humble Neo-Con!
The next article is similar in intent:
David Samuels: One of the things that struck me about your original piece was your portrait of the American elite as a single class that seamlessly spans both the Democratic and Republican parties.
Angelo Codevilla: Of course, yes. Not in exactly the same way, though; what I said was that the Democrats were the senior partners in the ruling class. The Republicans are the junior partners.
We are right back in the false moral equivalence, which leads right back to theme of the End of American Greatness which is laid out in the introductory tag line to the enervating interview:
The historian of American statecraft and spycraft and conservative political philosopher Angelo Codevilla talks about the ruling elite, Jonathan Pollard, and the rise of the techno-surveillance state—and the consequent demise of the American Empire
Indeed, it comes as no surprise that Samuels manages to rope in the American traitor Jonathan Pollard, given how he has become an iconic figure in Neo-Con Zionist circles.
I had not heard of the Claremont Institute radical Codevilla before, but leave it to Tikvah Tablet to pull the deplorables out from under their stench-filled rocks and present them as important intellectual figures to us:
https://amgreatness.com/author/angelo-codevilla/
“Fauci is a Deep State Fraud” indeed!
MAGA all the way.
The piece by B. Duncan Moench continues the American Anarchy, Hebrew hefker, theme:
It’s time to face facts, America: We’re a backward, dysfunctional, angry, anti-intellectual mess. Not just Trump, cable news, or Twitter but the whole freakin’ culture. While our cities burn in America’s latest “race” riots, the COVID-19 death toll continues to rise. Some of our citizens dance on top of police cruisers, while others frolic on prematurely opened beaches, gyms, and hair salons—convinced they can build up “herd immunity.” They come to this conclusion from a quick reading of the same 30-word Facebook post as our commander in chief, who asks aloud if it’s safe to drink bleach and—come on—admit it: Listening to his more-than-likely demented Democratic Party opponent try to form coherent sentences makes drinking bleach seem like a palatable alternative.
Moench gives the hefker game away in the following highlighted passage:
Self-styled progressive elites would like to think they can build a highly educated, highly efficient federal bureaucratic class that Americans honor and respect, but that just isn’t going to happen—not in the land of Joseph Smith, P.T. Barnum, and Vince McMahon.
By the end of the article, he sums up the new Newhouse Tikvah vision with a garish flourish:
Much of our citizenry will flat out refuse to comply with the directives of almost any distant authority they don’t find legitimate, especially that of a state agency. A federalized system of true social democracy simply will not grow in North American soil. Those who care about issues of labor and the environment, as I do greatly, need to give up on turning America into something it just isn’t. Instead, thinking Americans need to accept what their country is and do the (very hard) work of figuring out where we go from here.
That is a textbook iteration of the MAGA.
The next article by ex-Liberal turned Bushist Islamophobe Neo-Con Paul Berman gives us the usual useless analysis of the “Mind of the Trump Voter”:
Donald Trump’s supporters turn out to be (as discovered by the statisticians, as reported by the political analysts) 55 percent white working-class, many of them males from age 50 to 64, without college degrees. And, in the analysts’ view, a political logic accounts for these people’s sympathies. The white workers are submerged in economic insecurity, and they blame their circumstances on illegal immigrants from Mexico, and they appreciate their candidate’s forceful anti-immigrant hostility. Nor do they want the United States to accept refugees from Syria. Their feelings on this matter draw them to Trump yet again. Such is the explanation. It makes sense. But I worry about explanations that make too much sense.
The nonsensical article ends pompously with a quote from Marx’s Eighteenth Brumaire and a silly analysis of Reality TV:
The Trump candidacy ought to remind us of the ancient reality that politics is not necessarily the home of the rational—a truth to be found in the pages of Suetonius. I point to Marx’s The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte, from 1852. It is a study of the aftermath of the revolution of 1848 in France. Louis Bonaparte was a laughable character, but in the aftermath of the revolution public life was unsettled, and it was not clear what sort of government France was going to have. The laughable character happened to be the great Napoleon Bonaparte’s nephew, and this sufficed to bring him to power. The stupid peasants voted for him. He established a dictatorship. It was absurd, but it happened. The story of Louis Bonaparte was the occasion for Marx’s remark about history taking place twice, the first time as tragedy (Napoleon), the second time as farce (the nephew). Marx wanted to draw from these events a lesson about the class struggle, but I think that he stumbled on a different and eternal truth, which has to do with the place of theater—of tragedy and farce, theatrical genres—in political life. Reality TV, in Trump’s version of it, is our modern farce. There are people who demand their daily farce: This was Marx’s unwitting discovery. They insist on being entertained. About the realities of their own political situation, those people may understand nothing. They understand a personal reality, though. They want to sit in the audience and laugh and cry. Especially they want to shake their fists at villains. They want to boo and hiss. They want to tremble in loathing. If someone comes out on stage who is capable of making them do so, they will clap. It is pathetic.
Do not worry about anything, it is all a FARCE!
Maybe he should watch Mike Judge’s “Idiocracy” and wake up from his Tikvah-induced slumber:
https://groups.google.com/g/davidshasha/c/pAno6gxZGV8/m/-f-gYEFDAgAJ
He might actually learn something about what America has become, and how it happened. It might just surprise him.
The final article by Jacob Siegel unsurprisingly puts all the blame for our current situation on the Left.
The argument links to the usual Right Wing Trumpist grievances.
He moves from the 1619 Project:
The group of historians who submitted their letter of dissent to The New York Times, objecting to the historical claims in the paper’s flagship 1619 project provided a nice demonstration of this point. They questioned the project's scholarship and in response, were accused of being old white men, as indeed most of them were, and antique reactionaries. When they pleaded that they were not abettors of white supremacy but objected to the project’s historical claims, they were told their history was in error. In the end the historians, however distinguished their careers were beforehand, appeared confused and defeated, complaining solicitously in their allotted column inches in the paper’s letters section.
To the Me Too movement:
The moral injunction is: “Believe women”—and you believe women, don’t you? The argument underlying the slogan is that sexual violence is rampant in America and goes unaddressed and unpunished because of the endemic misogyny in our society. There are rational assertions contained within this argument: The claim that American women are the victims of rampant sexual violence enabled by ingrained cultural and legal biases was advanced initially as matter of social science—that is, as a matter of science—based on empirical evidence such as a famous study that found 1 in 5 women on American college campuses had been sexually assaulted.
To Harvey Weinstein and Asia Argento:
But there were a few more twists in the story. First, there was Asia Argento, one of the first actresses to come forward with her story of sexual abuse at the hands of Weinstein and one of the leaders and public faces of the #MeToo movement—who turned out to be an accused sexual predator herself. No one should have to be a “perfect victim” or a moral exemplar to be given sympathy and believed, but Argento was pushing it.
To Black Lives Matter:
There may be no more totemically powerful moral claim in all of American life than those three words: “black lives matter.” As a meme it is invincible. But the moral claim, with its demand for immediate radical changes to policing and other institutions of American life, is not just a moral claim, it is also supposedly a reflection of observed and analyzed material conditions. For instance, that there is an epidemic of racist, or, more correctly anti-black, police violence in America.
Here is how Siegel wraps up his Tikvah PILPUL up:
What we are witnessing, in the rapidly transforming norms around race, sex, and gender, is not an argument at all but a revolution in moral sentiment. In all revolutions, the new thing struggling to be born makes use of the old system in order to overthrow it. At present, institutions like the university, the press, and the medical profession preserve the appearance of reason, empiricism, and argument while altering, through edict and coercion, the meaning of essential terms in the moral lexicon, like fairness, equality, friendship, and love. That the effort wins so much support speaks to the deep contradictions and corruption of American meritocratic institutions, and of the liberal individualist moral regime it seeks to replace.
I must hand it to Newhouse; she is extremely skilled at trying to hide her Trumpist values, as she and her Neo-Con writers muddy the waters in order to insist that America is a fraud.
It is not America that is the fraud, it is Tikvah and the Trumpists.
It has become quite clear that when Newhouse and her rogues’ gallery of writers want to go out and attack a figure directly, they have no compunction in doing so. Their silence when it comes to taking on Trump is pretty deafening.
Her shell game could be seen when she sent out a special series on Louis Farrakhan:
https://groups.google.com/g/davidshasha/c/FgSsSevfWAo/m/ISoZLdzgBAAJ
As I argued in my comments, the idea was not simply to excoriate the Anti-Semite killer of Malcolm X, but to implicitly set him out as a straw-man in the face of Trump and the Alt-Right.
Rather than go after the obvious threat in the White House, Newhouse decided to ignore Trumpist Anti-Semitism and racism and beat the dead NOI horse.
And that Anti-Semitism and racism was on full barbarous display at the Lysol Insurrection:
But Tikvah Tablet has no interest in it, preferring instead to applaud Trumpist values in a Straussian modality.
Indeed, it was Liel Leibovitz who lavished Tikvah praise on the original Whore of Trump:
https://groups.google.com/g/davidshasha/c/3I3aEzqgadA/m/Osodm4iLCAAJ
As I have also written, we could see this slight-of-hand in the relentless Tikvah attacks on the New York Mayor:
https://groups.google.com/g/davidshasha/c/i8ZF-UUVpUg/m/EMmGrAQwAwAJ
Which of course includes Bari Weiss, who is still in the Newhouse Tikvah Tablet MISHPOCHEH:
https://groups.google.com/g/davidshasha/c/uFhuGVvR9Ko/m/qGoRJZBGAwAJ
In his latest article, “De Blasio’s Perfect Patsies,” the degenerate Leibovitz reinforces the point:
https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/de-blasios-perfect-patsies
Tikvah Tablet now represents an alternative Neo-Con Jewish perspective that is comfortable with the basic Trump Talking Points, but takes care not to be overtly supportive of the Murderer-in-Chief.
It might hurt the fundraising!
In the end, the Tikvah Tablet post-Insurrection articles are really not all that different from the garbage we are getting from David Horowitz and from Townhall:
It is all there: We have the attempt at false moral equivalence between BLM and the Trump Terrorists, as well as the desire, embodied by the Trump Fascist Tucker Carlson, of trying to patiently “understand” the minds of the terrorists!
The whole thing is, of course, a false construct, as BLM protesters and the Trump Insurrectionists were treated completely differently by the police, in effect proving the point being made about racism and police brutality by the Left Wing activists:
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-01-07/trump-rioters-weren-t-policed-like-blm-protesters
It was a point that resounded throughout Andrew McCormick’s excellent report in The Nation, which made clear just how the double standard worked in real time at the Lysol Insurrection:
https://groups.google.com/g/davidshasha/c/sGQ_vCK48JE
The Right Wing mob is being supported by the Right Wing media in its spurious use of the BLM analogy.
Newhouse does this very subtly, with the slick White Jewish Supremacy hauteur pretentiousness that is her trademark. We should not be fooled into thinking that she and her cabal are not part of the same Trump Alt-Right echo-chamber as the usual wingnuts brandishing AK-47s, IEDs, and Confederate flags:
Again, as Americans anguish over those toxic images from our nation’s sacred Capitol, and as many on both sides of the political aisle seek to remove Trump from office prior to the Biden Inauguration, Alana Newhouse has dug in and set out a number of critical Neo-Con dogmas that are tied together by the Trumpist idea that America is falling apart and incapable of protecting its democratic institutions. It is all of a piece with the Tikvah authoritarian understanding of Jewish identity.
Like the Trump Insurrectionists who seek to bring down America, so too do the Tikvah Insurrectionists seek to bring down Judaism and our noble moral values from within.
So, while many on the Neo-Con Jewish Right and the Republican establishment have come to understand the error of their past ways, hardline extremists like Newhouse, Soloveichik, and Leibovitz have determined that they will stick to the Trump script, in spite of the writing of the wall.
