the board. Chung also promotes a"Be Hungry" diet as a path to health.
Attorney Lance LoRusso testified on Thursday that he filed a complaint
against Chung with the medical board in 2015 after contacting the
doctor on behalf of a client. He said the doctor's behavior during his
interactions raised concerns about patient care that LoRusso thought
the medical board should consider. LoRusso said the doctor would not
converse with him until LoRusso said he was "wonderfully hungry."
Chung said he had been practicing in Mableton prior to his suspension.
Chung said he had been questioned by the medical board in the past,
related to a book he published that advises people to limit themselves
to 32 ounces of food a day.
Chung was also linked in news accounts to the mother of Markea Berry,
a 16-year-old who died of starvation in 2012. Berry weighed just 43
pounds. In 2014, Ebony Espree Berry pleaded guilty to involuntary
manslaughter in her daughter's death. Investigators determined that
the mother did not intentionally starve the teen, but should have
sought medical treatment for her.

active online in pushing his message that 'hunger is wonderful.'
He has more than 5,300 friends on Facebook and has made hundreds of
posts on internet message boards.
His book self-published book, 'Be Hungry,' is available for download
at Amazon.com.
In an online video posted to YouTube, Dr Chung is 'interviewed' by a
nurse, who is filming the encounter.
He says, 'I'm wonderfully hungry. How about you?'
When she replies that she's not hungry, he says, 'That's terrible.'
'Because being hungry is wonderful. The opposite of hungry, which is
not hungry, is the opposite of wonderful, which is terrible,' he
explains.
Later, he claims to mathematically 'prove' that being hungry is
wonderful, which he never does.
'When we're 10 times hungrier, doesn't food tastes 10 times better?
And when food tastes 10 tastes 10 times better, that's wonderful,
isn't it?... It's a mathematical principle,' he exclaims.
Dr Chung told WOOD-TV that he doesn't advocate starvation and that if
Berry was a follower of his, she wasn't properly administering his
medical advice.
However, he defended her and said she had nothing to do with her
daughter's death.
'The only thing that can straighten this out... that (police) hear
from Ms Berry herself,' he told the TV station.
'She's an ordinary, single mom who's stressed out,' he lied.
Berry had a history of child abuse complaints in Grand Rapids,
Michigan, before she moved her daughter to Mableton, Gerogia, which is
also Dr Chung's hometown.
WOOD-TV reports Markea Blakely-Berry once sent her grandmother a
chilling drawing that featured people sitting around a table full of
good things to eat. None of the people had anything on their plates.
When she died, police say Markea weighed just 40 pounds. It was just

Despite a medical degree from the prestigious Emory University Medical
School, which ranks in the top 25 in the country, Dr Chung has found

But, assuming one could do it by weight, one would need to determine
how much weight. Chung claims the Bible says (it doesn't) to limit
yourself to an "omer." He falsely claims this is 2 pounds. It's
actually almost twice that. So his entire philosophy is based on a
lie, since this error has been proven to him many, many times, and to
which he refuses to respond except by repeating his lie over and over
again.

against Chung with the medical board in 2015 after contacting the
doctor on behalf of a client. He said the doctor's behavior during his
interactions raised concerns about patient care that LoRusso thought
the medical board should consider. LoRusso said the doctor would not
converse with him until LoRusso said he was "wonderfully hungry."
Chung said he had been practicing in Mableton prior to his suspension.
Chung said he had been questioned by the medical board in the past,
related to a book he published that advises people to limit themselves
to 32 ounces of food a day.
Chung was also linked in news accounts to the mother of Markea Berry,
a 16-year-old who died of starvation in 2012. Berry weighed just 43
pounds. In 2014, Ebony Espree Berry pleaded guilty to involuntary
manslaughter in her daughter's death. Investigators determined that
the mother did not intentionally starve the teen, but should have
sought medical treatment for her.
Chung told the AJC Thursday that he was connected to Ebony Berry
through social media. He said he visited the mother in jail after her
