Nah, that guy is a nutter, trying to violate causality.
Quote: --"It's weird stuff," says Boyd. "We sent a pulse through an optical fiber, and before its peak even entered the fiber, it was exiting the other end.--

He's got resonance or phase shift or something trivially simple going on.
Violation of causality would generate more noise than cold fusion, the press would be all over it. An oscilloscope trace? C'mon...

Mine is far simpler and definitely not weird.
There are always two photons emitted (conserving momentum).
We see only one of them, the other goes away from us.

Usenet facility is messy enough. I was curious whether in
your naive thinking you've been under the impression that
you're actually making things look better in your messages.

If that's the case, then I'd like to inform you that that's
not the case :)

Andro, re: "xyzzy", roger... I know, but you ruined it with kindness.
My intention was for Mehram to cough it, "Andr.." up himself...'cuz
apparently he is too afraid to spell it out in the fear that you may
come into the game and play with him. Thanks for the thought though.

"Andr.. I mean Hassan" has nothing to do with Androcles or
sorcerer, etc. "Andr" is the first part of your real name.
You keep using my name without providing yours, so I may want
to reveal your full name one day.

Interesting web page.
Consider the following experiment. Construct a 1uF
capacitor from two metallic plates. Next construct a 1uH
inductor from a coil of wire. Place both these on a spaceship.
The ship accelerates to 0.75C relative to the earth. If we
then measure the capacitance and the inductance of these
devices, what do you think will be the result? If the answer
is 1uF and 1uH respectively then I don't see how your view
can be consistent with Maxwell's equations. If your answer
has the capacitance or inductance changing then how slowly
would the spacecraft have to be traveling to have a
measurable change in circuit parameters? I would think with
modern test equipment not much velocity would be needed
to see the change.

Perhaps this poses a challange for your Ravencrag staff
but for me It's just common sense.

If you've seen sense in not using your real name here
then you cannot insist on using another person's real
name when he, for whatever reason, prefers an alias.

But if you do this because I kick some of you
Americans' ruder asses, that's another story. I put my
name under every one of those statements anytime you
want. So can you.

That's a dishonest distortion of what he said. The actual
words are at:

http://sandiego.indymedia.org/en/2002/04/1003.shtml

Anyway. Sharon is a simpleton. Who needs to find out what he
says. Him and a dozen others in Israel are just there for
being part of the manipulations required for much bigger
undertakings. They will not do anything purely on their own.
There are limits set for this, one step beyond and all that
bunch are taken out. Just like that. Waste of time even
talking about them.

About that Holocaust matter, I thought first it was a joke but
turns out they've made a decision. In Islam everything is
accounted for! Your lies included. Somebody must've felt it
was time to see how Islam handles this.

Yes, it is a mild, santized, shorter version as it contains only
the kinder, nicer and pertinent sentences distilled OUT of the

No none of that. You must read him carefully. He's just saying
he's had it. While the pieces you had selected just misses the
point while quoting him verbatim. That's why I said it was
dishonest. You do that sometimes.

He's a soldier, a simpleton. And nobody wants a soldier
suddenly placed at positions of political decision. Hence what
I said earlier. And he knows how far he can go.

Israel almost got nuked in 1982. He would _kiss_ the hands of
those Hezbollah fighters whom we trained to settle the matters
differently. He knows that one too. But he's just a soldier
and that's how a soldier must manage.

In some similar ways Iranians have had it too. I can
understand his blight.

Are you that full of hate or is this one of your profound occasions
where your stupidity is good for you? Read your own reasoning in [2]

Sharon, all political shit aside, was from HIS and the Zionists pov
a great soldier, a true patriot and even a good PM & statesman,
which is, of course, why you denigrate the old bastard at all costs
and by any means, in a very transparent way. But you do it in a very
dilettante Iranian Mullah apprentice fashion by feebly mimicking the
Zionist tactics they use to promote the exaggerations of their Holocaust.

Same song by you Mehram. Only your skin & the times are different.
Your Iranian Mullah apprentice tactics are not new nor original.

just like you did above.... Stupid & bad scene by you, Mehram.

I'm afraid I have to :) I don't think you have the capability to
handle anything political in nature. Stick to your anecdotes and
things logistical. That is, your best posts are the ones that
provide raw data. Don't analyze them :)

That says it all. No need to go further, many contributors confess
to not thinking.

... ahahaha... true, but they have a more than compulsive
and self-convincing power tool at their disposal, than thinking:
Their unconditional faith & belief in their religion & education,
them swearing that their know and have the truth, scientifically.
Good or bad?... in the final analysis.. it probably doesn't matter.
But we can readily observe that humankind is run to 99% by
emotion alone... So much for the purity of empirical science.

... repudiating the sensible world, which he neither sees himself nor believes from those who have, the Peripatetic joins combat by childish quibbling in a world on paper, and denies the Sun shines because he himself is blind.
Johannes Kepler to Galileo Galilei, 28 March 1611

"I wish, my dear Kepler, that we could have a good laugh together at the extraordinary stupidity of the mob. What do you think of the foremost philosophers of this University? In spite of my oft-repeated efforts and invitations, they have refused, with the obstinacy of a glutted adder, to look at the planets or Moon or my telescope."

Ecclesiastes 1:9 What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.

I am glad, my dear Hanson, that we have a good laugh together at the extraordinary stupidity of the mob. What do you think of the foremost philosophers of this newsgroup? In spite of my oft-repeated efforts and invitations, they have refused, with the obstinacy of a glutted adder, to look at the variable stars or novae with my telescope.

In the final analysis, you ask?

If there should chance to be any mathematicians who, ignorant in mathematics yet pretending to skill in that science, should dare, upon the authority of some passage of Scripture wrested to their purpose, to condemn and censure my hypothesis, I value them not, and scorn their inconsiderate judgement.
De Revolutionibus Coelestibus

Finally we shall place the Sun himself at the centre of the Universe. All this is suggested by the systematic procession of events and the harmony of the whole Universe, if only we face the facts, as they say, 'with both eyes open'. -- Copernicus

And yet it [the Earth] moves. -- Galileo Galilei, who KNEW.
In questions of science, the authority of a thousand is not worth the humble reasoning of a single individual.
Quoted in Arago, Eulogy of Galileo (1874)

I feign no hypotheses. -- Principia Mathematica. If I have been able to see further, it was only because I stood on the shoulders of giants. -- Newton, who KNEW.

Temporis filia veritas; cui me obstetricari non pudet.
Truth is the daughter of time; I do not repudiate being her obstetrician.-- Kepler, who KNEW.
Mensus eram coelos, nunc Terrae metior umbras.
Mens coelestis erat, corporis umbra jacet.

In the final analysis I shall join the giants. I have seen further than any of them,
I stood upon my lion's head.

Androcles - who KNOWS - and that is all that will ever matter to me.
