Now I'm still killing time on Usenet at 10:30 waiting for them
to appear. Good to see Quentin back on. I meant to write to him
but when we're not going to doctors, I'm working late to avoid
running out of vacation time. (Wife has cancer, and I'm no
spring chicken any more either.)
Anyway, Merry Christmas to all of you, even if you don't see this
until you finally take a break from your new toys next week!

When do the kids realize there is no Santa? Angela is 11 and she still
seems to believe. Alas, I was up till after 3, mainly due to husband coming
in later than he said he would. He was eating his dinner at midnight and
didn't go to bed till nearly 2. Angela woke me up at not quite 8. She is
happily playing with her toys. At least she is old enough to assemble all
that Barbie stuff and put the decals on. She has it all spread out in front
of her and is reading the instructions. Wants no help from me! :)
Merry Christmas you!
You're a surrogate Santa.

I add my very best wishes for a Merry Christmas, especially to those of us
who need a little extra cheer. I know there are several of us.

Noooooooo!
Could be. I found out when I was 12. How? I saw my dad boldly walking in
front of me with the presents. I then found out where they kept them. In
the trunk of our Olds F85. I was talking to my grandma on the phone at the
time (his mom). When I told her what he was doing, she gave him a right
verbal thrashing on the phone!
The other day on an Internet forum, a mom sadly said that her teenaged son
still believed until she told him otherwise. She thought he knew.
Belated Christmas wishes (boy, did that day sure zoom by!).
Happy (proactive) New Year to each and everyone of you.

Thank YOU now Martha. I think we all kind of keep track of each other. I
realize how lucky I am having Syd around, even if limited, as his sweet
personality and loving nature are still very much in tact. I just realied
that i have to change all those cdoctors lists and other places that have
a line for who to contact in cse of emergency. I shall have to pick one
of my sons now. the choice is difficult.

I can't remember my folks ever making a big deal out of it.
I think our gifts were tagged with the real giver's name.
The only exception I _remember_ was a three-speed bicycle
tagged "from Santa" when I was under ten years old.

LOL - nuts, isn't it - I had to wake mine up too!
My toys were books, so yes, I'll be around less for a bit :P
On the downside, my sister finally admitted that an A1c of 6.2 was NOT
a little bit diabetic, and has my spare meter, 250 test strips, and
test,test,test instructions...
Hope everyone had a good one,
Nicky.

Maybe that's really more of an upside?
You can't start doing something about a problem if you refuse to admit it
exists & apparently she's taking that first step -- so I'd call that
progress. Good luck to her.
My nephew's wife made a fig pudding (from the recipe & info I provided); I
made the hard sauce <hic!> & showed how to flame it all for serving --
time for the younger generation to revive some family tradition!
& we haven't done the fig pud in years.

Mine made a big deal of it. It was one way to get us to bed. They gave us
one present Christmas Eve and we were allowed to open all presents from
extended family and friends. The Santa gifts were for the morning.
Blessed 2010 to you and yours --> http://WDJW.net/Blessed2010 :-)
Shalom :-)

Mmmm, I love Xmas pudding. I've never made my own, though - how easy
would it be to lower the carbs a bit? I wander round the shops as soon
as they appear reading all the nutrition labels, and then picking out
the most promising ones to test :P
Jan, do get some help for that control problem of yours.

Hmmm. Splenda/Erythritol, a tsp molasses for brown sugar flavour,
mostly apricots in the dried fruit vein, carbalose...
There's a good way to handle her: Steel bars an solid concrete walls.
Happy New Year!

Chung has been around for quite a few years now, and over time (last
5 years or so) his posts have degenerated from once being helpful and
knowledgeable to now being consumed with religion and what seems a
paranoid belief in his 2lb diet.
Very sad to a see a once clever man go down the gurgler like this,

schizophrenia

No, we get excited when we reach healthy blood glucose levels.... the
whole reason why this group is here - to assist ourselves and others
to reach those levels to stop the disgusting complications that
uncontrolled diabetes can inflict.
Hope you and others like you are here to simply to pass some time. If
you are here because you are diabetic, hope you are finding the time
to read the vital information that can assist in your condition.
If you wish to respond with crass statements - I will ignore it, so
dont waste toooooo much time, please.
