In the SCT, Vellala is often misused to mention a group of non-bramins
who are totally diverse. It has been often attempted to consider them as a
single caste and having a single culture. Some indulged in vellala
bashing too :). Some made sweeping comments like the following.

The truth is that they are totally diverse and fall in FC, BC, MBC
in reservation scheme. They have nothing in common.
As such there is no vellala culture. Some of the details may be
wrong, but not intended hurt anyone. You are welcome correct me.

Thondaimandala Saiva vellala : FC as per reservation.
Title: Mudaliar.
Well advanced in education.
Saivites and Vegetarian.
Area: Northern districts of TN
Nedunchezian, Anbalagan,

Thondaimandala Thuluva Vellala: BC as per reservation.
Title: Mudaliar, Pillai, Udayar, Rao in hyderbad areas
This caste is also known as agamudayars, vellore mudaliars,
Arcot mudaliars, Asaiva Mudaliar.
Well advanced in education in urban areas and very backward
in rural areas.
Area: Northern Districts of TN, Chittore, Bangalore, Hyderabad
They are tamils speaking spread in Karnataka and Andhra
Usually they have their last name as Arcot.
Arcot Ramasamy mudaliar, Laksmanaswamy mudaliar, P.U.Shanmugam,
Thengai Srinivasan.
Least prominent member is M. P. Krishna Raj

Karkatha Vellalar : FC
Well advanced in education
Area: southarcot, tanjore, Trichi, erode

Sozhia Vellalar: BC
Well advanced in education.
Area: Tanjore, Trichi
Many of them converted to christianity, and known as vellala
christians.

Tirunelveli Saivavellalar: FC
Well advanced in education.

Vellala Mudaliar: FC? I am not sure
Well advanced in business
Area: Salem, Dharmapuri, Tirupattur, Vellore

Isai vellalar: MBC
Also known as Maruthuvar.
Area: Tanjore, Trichi and everywhere
Prominent members are Dr. C.N. Annadurai, Dr. M. Karunanidhi

Konguvella Gounders: BC
Well advanced in education and politics
Area: Coimbatore, Erode, Madurai

the literature, information available in the net indicates Thondamandala Mudaliar,Karkathavellalar, Konguvellalar and Tirunelveli Karkathar and Saiva Vellalars, Nanchil vellalar in Nagercoil area are the communities which was mentioned in Literature and other inscriptions as Velir. Manu Needhi cholan and Sibi belong to that group Laterthey become chieftains. Adiyaman, Pari, Ori and others belong to that community. If you do research you will understand that. They were maintaining the temples and mutts. One branch Desiakars were performing rituals in temples which was taken over by Bhramins in latter stage.

M.P.KRISHNA RAJ, I JUST WANT TO ADVICE YOU, PLEASE DON'T POST ANYTHING which you do not have least knowledge of anything. Why I'm saying means, you wrote about "ISAI VELLALAR" caste as a "MARUTHUVAR". How dare you say like this?. I'll give you information about the caste of ISAI VELLALAR, just go through it. Don't spread fack news.

M Karunanidhi is isai -vellar community / His father also Nathasuram ( mangala isai ) musician. His child good stage karunanidhi also went to attend the musician group for the temple festival of Thiruvarur. and another is no way to connection between Barber community. In old days this isai velar people were do the all Temple -musician in Chola -Dyanasty, and "Bhratha nattiyam" also worked out this people only in india, not by Bhramin people ( after the year 1940 all bharamin ladies are learned the Bhratha nattyum from this people in Valluvoor village then they got " Pattern rights"

M.S .Subbulakshmi AMMA IS isai -vellar community, she practiced Karnataka-sangeet at his stage of 13 age and learn from his mother he is veena -musian. All bhagavadhar and Gurus are belong to Isaiah vellar community, This community people are mostly high talented in ARTS & Kirthanas ans they are proofed in old days of Chola Dynasty.

Karnatic music legend Thiyaharajar is identified as god-sense children and he trained kirthanas by Siva Raja Bhagavathar (he is also belong to isai vellar community)

ISAI VELLALAR are talented and respected people in south India.

Isai vellalar is not vellalar caste....they are recently add vellalar name ....before they are call melakarar

Absolutely right,... Before they used to call by the name of melakara Mudhali, Nattuvanar and Devadasi.. and some of them used Mudhali surname and Pillai surname regional differences is there.
