there is new project in organization, probability and impact matrix
    developed in which process?
    1- PLAN RISK
    2-IDENTIFY RISK
    3-PERFORM QUANTITATIVE RISK ANALYSIS
    4- PERFORM QUALITATIVE RISK ANALYSIS

approving, rejecting and recommending are part of integrated change
control. Validating the defect repair would be part of the quality control.

I guess, Perform Integrated Change Control provides:

    Approved preventive action
    Approved corrective action
    Approved defect repair
    Validated defect repair
    Non-approved change requests
    Updates of Project Management Plan

    1. Identifying that a change needs to occur or has occurred
    2. Make sure only approved changes are implemented
    3. Reviewing and approving requested changes
    4. Managing approved changes as and when they occur and regulating them
    5. Maintain integrity of baseline
    6. Review and approve all recommended corrective and preventive actions

    8. Documenting impact of requested changes

The key word here is "validated" which means quality control. Check output
of Perform quality control PMBOK *"Validated Changes" *
where the change can be a defect repair. So, there is no validation of
defect repair under integrated change control.
    The correct answer is C.

Integrated change control only approves/rejects change requests or may
    itself result in change request.

Only approved requests are validated but input to ICC process are only
recommended changes. Its not meaningful to have a validated changes as
    output.
Whereas all approved requests need to be implemented (project execution)
but before such an implementation it should be validated and that happens
in QC. Whose output goes for implementation. Only proper understanding of
entire process flow will help in tricky questions.

Always think if its validation it most likely talking about QC.

Correct Answer is D. Cause we don't have an expersion like Recommended
Change Request. we Have recommended change that can be corrective or
    preventive action.

    *Hi

    *

    *Greetings!

    *

I am pleased to inform you that I have passed PMP exam on 28 Feb 2012.

    Here it's my LL;

*(1).* I have attended workshop to get 35 contact hours (mandatory as per
    PMI) without doing followings;

    - Becoming PMI member,

    - And w/o pre-studying PMBOK + reference guide book (I selected
    RITA’s book).

*→** LL- *It is better *to first* become member of PMI. (which I didn’t
follow but I suggest that if you are 100% sure to go for PMP *then and
then*only start preparing otherwise re-plan as per your wish). It’s
    better to
check PMI website thoroughly after you become PMI member. Spare some time
on it. Generally many candidates miss this.

*→** LL – *It is better to read PMBOK and selected reference guide (and
make notes of difficulties during first reading) before attending 35 hours
contact workshop, because it is more advisable.

*I strongly recommended this to all aspirant of PMP.*

Surely it will make workshop or training session more interactive and
    interesting.

You will able to solve doubts or problems during session with faculty.

*(2)*. I did not keep regular touch with faculty and R.E.P. after workshop.

*→** LL - *That If I would have in touch with my R.E.P. and faculty (though
I had their contacts but forgot), it would have helped me lot to solve some
problems during preparation. Because “EXPERT JUDGMENT” is very useful.

    * *

*(3). *I submitted application in anticipation that it will not require
audit (normally majority aspirants follow same assumption)

*→** LL – **it is better for *aspirants to pre-plan actions for audit if
    it occurs on your application.

*(4). **I suggest - * *Make sure of all latest and new updates by PMI -
about terms, PMBOK version, exam pattern etc. before applying to exam.
Every things available on pmi.org. Recently there are very important
changes are coming up by PMI about PMBOK version, exam schedules and
re-scheduling etc.Which will sure affect your PMP exam plan. *

*(5). *I ignored *Knowledge Center *of PMI website at starting.

*→** LL I suggest - * to be most use of Knowledge Center. You will get
very important things like good reference books, more than 1500 practice
questions etc in *eread and reference *column.

*(6). *I came across many free practice questions from different sources.

*→** LL I recommend **to practice MOST updated and reliable sources for
    practice test. *

I have tried – Paid one - PMP FasTrack by RMC – good collection of about
1400 questions of different types of situational types, I have tried Paid
One - http://www.pm-exam-simulator.com – very good for practice and helps
you to improve speed in exams,

In addition I have tried Free tests - PM Study, Lahman, Head First,
Ferndale’s, PMI practice test, Kim Heldman (very good situational ones but
in exam you cannot find questions of this level – difficult ones), On Line
tests from my R.E.P., Questions from RITA’s book etc. I have practiced
    about 5000 different questions.

    *(8). **How was exam? *

When I entered exam center, I was confident to pass exam.

*→** LL – *I observed that majority of questions are easy to understand.
They are based on PMBOK straightway. I could no find single questions out
of scope of PMBOK. But PMI often insists on situational questions. There
were some good questions based on formula but easy to understand and answer
    correctly.

I strongly recommend understanding concepts of Projects processes and
practicing more questions. Initially I have overlooked Data Flow Diagram –
but *I strongly suggest *to understand all Data Flow Diagram for all
processes this will help you to solve most of questions.

Because it is based on fundamentals and concepts of Project Processes.

*Make habit to look at to Data Flow Diagram more frequently and understand
    its magic!*

*(9).* *Last but not least –* PMP exam is nothing compared to we studied in
our degree courses but there is more RUMOR spread in the market. The only
important aspect is 72 seconds – time limit which may cause you to select
    incorrect answers!

I have never keep my goal just to pass exam rather to be a Good and perfect
Project Management professional in real world!

So, keep all required arms and be prepared, victory will be yours!

    Hi Arash, Thanks

    *What is Expectancy theory?*

Expectancy theory was proposed by Vroom in 1964. It proposes that a
person's behavior occurs because of expectations as to the outcomes of that
behavior. People believe that their efforts will lead to effective
performance and expect to be rewarded for their accomplishments. Expectancy
theory is about the mental processes regarding choice, or choosing. It
explains the processes that an individual undergoes to make choices**

    *What is Motivation Theory?*

    *Herzberg's Motivation-Hygiene theory*

Hygiene factors like pay, benefits and working conditions prevent
dissatisfaction. At the same time motivating factors like challenging
work, opportunities to learn and advancement lead to satisfaction.

    *Taylor*

Frederick Winslow Taylor (1856 – 1917) put forward the idea that workers
are motivated mainly by pay. Workers do not naturally enjoy work and so
need close supervision and control. Therefore managers should break down
production into a series of small tasks

*What is McGregor's Theory of X and Y?*

    * Theory X managers:*

Believe that most people do not like their work, and have little or no
ambition, need constant supervision and won't actually perform the duties
of their jobs unless closely supervised. The managers act like dictators
and impose very rigid controls over their people. They believe people are
motivated only by punishment, money or position.

    *Theory Y managers:*

Believe that people are interested in performing their best given the
right motivation and proper expectations. These managers provide support to
their teams, are concerned about their team members and are good listeners.

    *Theory Z by William Ouchi*

It puts an emphasis on the well being of the employees both at work and
outside work .It encourages steady employment and leads to high employee
    satisfaction.

*What is Maslow's Theory of Heirarchy?*

Maslow's hierarchy of needs say that people have needs, Unless and until
the lower needs are satisfied they won't even begin to think about the
    higher needs.

    *Order of hierarchy*:

    Self actualization
    Self esteem
    Social needs
    Safety and security needs
    Basic physical needs

    * Achievement theory*

It is proposed by David McClelland. People are usually motivated by need
for 3 things; Achievement, power and affiliation.

    Arash,
Work Performance Information is an output of Direct and Manage Project
    execution.
    WPI mostly includes :
    Status of deliverable's
    Progress of schedule
Risks status ,new risks if identified any issues or risks that have become
    issues.
Costs information like costs incurred for deliverable's ,procurement cost
    and any other costs.
    Information on procurement.
These are routinely generated and collected as the project progresses and
as the team is doing the planned work. This information can be termed as
just data generated as of date.
The WPI then becomes input to the most M&C processes viz. Control cost,
Control Schedule, control scope and one executing process(Perform Quality
    assurance).

The M&C processes use the WPI and compare it with baselines in the project
plan e.g.cost data is compared to the cost baseline, the schedule progress
is compared against the schedule baseline. These measurements are expressed
in terms of variances Cost variance(CV) ,Schedule Variance(SV) and
performance index CPI and SPI which gives the idea and measure of project
progress and cost utilization etc. to the PM and management.

WPM then becomes an input to the other M&C processes viz. Perform Quality
Control and Report Performance which utilizes WPM to generate forecasts ETC
,EAC TCPI etc which form the core of Performance reports.
Please note that Performance reports are extensive and carry most of the
information like variances, CPI,SPI and forecasts along with issue status
and newly identified risks and status of old risks etc.

    I hope this helps.
