Not sure how to remove the boundary and add a point. If I remove it there's
no option to add a point

Updates to road closures will take months to migrate to the main map, as
Directions right now is only updating 2 or 3 times a year. If the road is
suddenly out, you should use Report a Problem via Maps to get it handled
    quicker. That is not to say that you shouldn't leave your edits in place;
just that a quicker review is not going to help much in the current
situation, other than getting the visual representation updated.

    What? Really?
Does Google Maps sync with any other databases?
    Such as OpenStreetMaps ?
Because 2 - 3 times each year is pretty terrible.
And to think I was considering using Google Earth Pro for our GIS needs
    here at the fire station.

That is just for Directions, and there appears to be an issue right now as
it used to update more regularly. Your edits will appear on the map right
away, but Directions will continue to follow the old roads/conditions until
the next time it is updated.

There is no sync with other products.

Maps updates "instantly" (usually before you can check, very occasionally
might take up to a day) with Map Maker changes. Other products such as
Mobile, Search, Earth and Directions then render the changes over time.
For all of those we used to say between 2 and 8 weeks depending when in
the cycle you did your update, but lately Directions is taking longer.

You would be better off to use Maps for you GIS needs; or if using Earth
you should draw in or flag any changes.

What is a POI? I have it so that if you type in "Aloha Falls Miniature
Golf"..., it lands right on the building as it should. The problem is with
the address. If you type in 1800 Us Hwy 45, it puts us a mile south.

I've "reported a problem" a couple of times but it doesn't appear in my
pending edits or anything so I have no idea if it got reviewed/rejected or
what happened to it...is there somewhere else I have to go to see pending
    address changes?

Report a Problem is a Maps function, not a Map Maker function; you will not
see it in your history. You need to simply wait your turn for those
reports, the timeline can really vary. You will receive an email when it
is handled if you checked the box for such a response.

There is no "pending address change", rather there is deletion requests on
the Address/Plot. You have been responding to the GR comments, so I'm sure
    you've seen it.

I'm still not quite understanding what you mean, but if you are referring
to the fact that you have both "Restaurant" and "Chinese Restaurant", the guidelines
for categories<http://support.google.com/mapmaker/bin/static.py?hl=en&topic=1094958&guide=1094359&page=guide.cs&answer=1066491#cycy>say to only use the most specific category. That way it does not come up
when I search for Mexican Restaurant.

Categories on Maps comes from a number of sources. The system sets them,
we set them in Map Maker, and owners add them in Places. The system tends
to use the Map Maker categories. The Places list is slightly different,
and then many people enter ones that are not in the list. When mappers are
working on an area to clean it up, we'll clean up
    inappropriate, repetitive and spammy categories.

Intersections with a river count, too. There's nothing wrong with the
autogenerated segments, since they'll still show properly on directions.
The only thing I can see wrong with them is the lack of street numbers on
    the segments.

When a Google reviewer says that an edit does not meet the guidelines, he
or she ought to be more specific about what the problem is.

In this case, I don't understand why the edit was rejected. I subsequently
corrected the position of the feature. Perhaps that was the problem, but
the reviewer ought to have explained what was wrong with the edit.

It hasn't been denied yet, it's only the generic comment they are leaving
now, it won't be denied until 7 days later. I agree it's a completely
useless comment, as it gives no indication as to what is wrong with the
edit. The problem is it's a duplicate, there's already a POI for that
    business here<http://www.google.com/mapmaker?gw=90&cid=11483928495321691277>
    .

    Flash Sep 05 11:31AM -0700

Also, the rejection only occurs if you ignore the edit for 7 days, that
auto-denial feature was designed to handle the people that never come back.
If you respond to the comment with something along the lines of "Can you
let me know what's wrong?", that stops the auto-denial.

Thanks for your input Dave. It got me thinking about your concerns.

According to the State of Florida, a branch office is a 'real business'
location. Its no where close to a UPS box. Its also not a park bench to
meet customers. Its defined and has laws governing it.

Your point about "*general public can visit it at anytime during set
business hours*" - Ever tried to meet a lawyer when you choose? Or maybe a
doctor in his office at the drop of a hat? Generally the public needs to
make an appointment. We do not operate a cafeteria. Fiona, as example,
will take your information and likely get in touch with her renters. Why
shouldn't she? You may have to wait in the lobby for a while, but you'll be
taken care of by a Sun Realty Agent sooner rather than later. Its in our
best interest to serve the public.

You said "*adding any value to the map*" - So if you could do a real estate
transaction in say downtown Naples, because this is where you're eating
lunch, its of no value to you that a real estate BRANCH OFFICE office is on
    the 2nd floor above you?

Your comment about Google's concerns of businesses running rampant, opening
up cyber offices maybe real, but this is not the case here and I'm not
responsible for the acts of those that do.

For those of you that want to visit our new office at 780 5th Av South
#200, please do so and tell me if you were not impressed and if you didn't
get the help you came for. I can guarantee you that an agent is not going
to hang about waiting for you but we will take care of you as soon as we
    can.

    *Again, I appreciate your opinion*

    *What is a MapUp?*
A MapUp is an event in which a group of people come together to improve the
places they know and love on Google Maps <http://maps.google.com/> by using Google
Map Maker <http://www.google.com/mapmaker>. MapUps can focus on the map of
a neighborhood, region, or even for a particular feature such as hiking
trails or cycling routes. MapUps can also serve to teach new mappers how to
use Google Map Maker, bring together experienced mappers, and everything in
between. The following information will explain what is involved in hosting
a MapUp, and how to contact the Google Map Maker Community Team for
    additional support.

    *Why host a MapUp?*
Because it’s fun! MapUps provide opportunities to teach others how to map
in Google Map Maker, connect about important issues, and learn tips and
tricks to improve your mapping skills. These events are a great way to
share your local knowledge about an area and grow your local and mapping
    communities.

*How do I plan a MapUp?*
The best part about MapUps is that they're organized by mappers like you -
people who love mapping and who want to share their enthusiasm with other
citizen cartographers. You can get started by reading through the MapUp
    Guidelines <http://support.google.com/mapmaker/bin/answer.py?answer=2732145> and
    follow the suggested steps.

*How can Google support my MapUp?*
Google is here to help! The Google Map Maker Community Team is happy to
assist you with your MapUp planning and can provide resources to ensure it
is a successful event. Google can sometimes also offer support in the form
of funding, publicity, and can provide branded Map Maker giveaways,
training materials (links to presentations, suggested MapUp agendas) and
more! Please see the MapUp Guidelines<http://support.google.com/mapmaker/bin/answer.py?answer=2732145> for
    more details.

No, we don't want to delete them because it messes with the Places page and
assiciated reviews & data. You should leave it and star issue 830<http://code.google.com/p/google-mapmaker/issues/detail?id=830>in the issue tracker, and hopefully we will eventually be able to correct
them. Googlers have the power to separate them, but not us mortals.

how can I use turn by turn navigation outside the US, without using my
data plan, it will drain my wallet using roaming internationally . will it
be possible to download the map of a state, save it on the phone?

This is more a Maps question; but the latest version of Android includes
offline maps that you can pre-download.
