NEW YORK — New HIV infections are increasing among homosexuals, drug
users and prostitutes who don't seek help because of laws that
criminalize these practices, the head of the U.N. AIDS agency said
Monday.
Michel Sidibe, the head of UNAIDS, said "it is unacceptable" that 85
countries still have laws criminalizing same sex relations among adults,
including seven that impose the death penalty for homosexual practices.
He called a proposed Ugandan law that would impose the death penalty for
some gays "very unfortunate" and expressed hope it will never be
approved.
At a time when UNAIDS is scaling up its program and seeking universal
access to HIV treatment, Sidibe said he was "very scared" because bad
laws are being introduced by countries making it impossible for these at
risk groups to have access to services.
"You have also a growing conservatism which is making me very scared,"
Sidibe added.
"We must insist that the rights of the minorities are upheld. If we
don't do that ... I think the epidemic will grow again," he warned. "We
cannot accept the tyranny of the majority."
Sidibe told a group of journalists at a luncheon hosted by the United
Nations Foundation that in countries from China to Kenya and Malawi,
about 33 percent of new HIV infections are in men having sex with men, a
significant increase.
By contrast, he said that in the Caribbean where most countries don't
have repressive laws, only between 3 and 6 percent of HIV infections are
in male homosexuals.
Even in the United States, where laws are not restrictive and the gay
community was the first to tackle AIDS, Sidibe said it is "shocking"
that more than 50 percent of new HIV infections last year occurred among
homosexuals. And he said in the 19-25 age bracket the infection rate was
even higher.
"It seems like we have come full circle" in the United States, he said.
"After almost no cases a few years ago we are seeing again this new peak
among people who are not having access to all the information, the
protection that is needed."
In addition to failing to adequately deliver the right messages about
AIDS prevention, Sidibe blamed complacency in a new generation that has
access to treatment.
He added that this was not just a problem in the U.S. but in Europe and
in Africa as well.
Sidibe said drug users are also getting the HIV virus that causes AIDS
in high numbers.
"You have 70 percent of new infections occurring in Eastern Europe and
Central Asia among drug users, but they are criminalized," he said.
"They don't have access to services. They have to hide themselves and go
underground."
Of the 16 million people in the world who are injecting drugs, almost 3
million are HIV positive, and among them less than 4 percent have access
to treatment and less than 8 percent have access to services, Sidibe
said.
"It's the same for men having sex with men," he said.
In Nigeria, where there are 1,000 new HIV infections every day, over 30
percent are in vulnerable groups — drug users, sex workers and
homosexuals, he said.
Sidibe called for "a prevention revolution" including a campaign in
major cities around the world like the anti-smoking campaigns launched
in recent years.

for new HIV infections in 2007 which showed 53% were among men who
have sex with men. The totals for all HIV/AIDS cases are 47% men who
have sex with men.

exterminate gay men. Evidence of this conspiracy was seen in the way
the virus defied normal epidemiology by appearing simultaneously on East
and West coasts. It never occurred to anyone that it might be a single
gay flight attendant on a quest to break the world record for number of
anal sex acts who might be responsible for the unusually rapid spread of
the disease.

I am not a Republican, I was merely observing that a virus with an
incubation time of several years means that the first cases of HIV were
being transmitted in the late-1970s. Reagan was in office for nine
months when the first cases of "GRID" appeared, all of which were
contracted before his term began in January of 1981.
The one gay man in particular I'm thinking of was just hitting puberty
around 1981, and spent a decade exposed to the most graphic propaganda
before contracting the virus around 1991. It was not for lack of
education that caused him to engage in unsafe sexual practices, it was
because he didn't care. Ronald Reagan couldn't make him care, I

AIDS Rate 50 Times Higher in Homosexual Men: Center for Disease Control

ATLANTA, Georgia, August 24, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - An official with the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced the CDC's estimate
Monday that in the United States AIDS is fifty times more prevalent among men
who have sex with men ('MSM') than the rest of the population. Dr. Amy
Lansky revealed this statistic during a plenary session at the 2009 HIV
Prevention Conference in Atlanta.
The CDC had already revealed last year that approximately 53% of the
estimated 56,300 new HIV cases in 2006 were in homosexual men, with the
African American population being particularly affected.
The new statistics, however, estimate the prevalence of HIV/AIDS relative to
the homosexual population, which allows comparisons to other groups in the
wider population. Because of the difficulty of determining the homosexual
population, the CDC had to estimate. Based on a variety of national surveys,
they based their statistics on the median estimate that homosexual men
constitute 4 percent of the overall male population, reports RH Reality
Check.
According to Dr. Lansky, then, based on the 4 percent figure, the CDC
estimates that in 2007 there were 692.2 new HIV cases per 100,000 homosexual
men - or fifty times more cases than the rest of the population.
While merely an approximation, the CDC's announcement confirms previous
statistics and studies that indicate vastly disproportionate occurrence of
sex-related diseases in homosexuals. According toa February 2007 study, for
example, homosexual men with HIV are 90 times more likely to develop anal
cancer than the rest of the population.
Earlier this year, as another example, the Centers for Disease Control
released a statistical report indicating that homosexual men made up 65
percent of the reported primary and secondary syphilis cases in 2007. A
report from the Public Health Agency of Canada in 2006 revealed that 51
percent of people infected with HIV in the country were homosexual men.
In fact, the statistics on HIV/AIDS led one group, the Los Angeles Gay and
Lesbian Center, to state in 2006 that HIV/AIDS is a "gay disease," in a
billboard ad campaign geared to reducing rates of HIV infection.
While homosexualists have actively suppressed such statistics in the past and
focused on portraying HIV/AIDS as a disease affecting the whole population in
an equal fashion, the statistics' increasing undeniability has forced their
hand. Rather than admit any inherent problem with homosexual practice

AIDS Rate 50 Times Higher in Homosexual Men: Center for Disease Control (CDC)

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced the CDC's estimate
Monday that in the United States AIDS is fifty times more prevalent among men
who have sex with men ('MSM') than the rest of the population. Dr. Amy
Lansky revealed this statistic during a plenary session at the 2009 HIV
Prevention Conference in Atlanta.
The CDC had already revealed last year that approximately 53% of the
estimated 56,300 new HIV cases in 2006 were in homosexual men, with the
African American population being particularly affected.
The new statistics, however, estimate the prevalence of HIV/AIDS relative to
the homosexual population, which allows comparisons to other groups in the
wider population. Because of the difficulty of determining the homosexual
population, the CDC had to estimate. Based on a variety of national surveys,
they based their statistics on the median estimate that homosexual men
constitute 4 percent of the overall male population, reports RH Reality
Check.
According to Dr. Lansky, then, based on the 4 percent figure, the CDC
estimates that in 2007 there were 692.2 new HIV cases per 100,000 homosexual
men - or fifty times more cases than the rest of the population.
While merely an approximation, the CDC's announcement confirms previous
statistics and studies that indicate vastly disproportionate occurrence of
sex-related diseases in homosexuals. According toa February 2007 study, for
example, homosexual men with HIV are 90 times more likely to develop anal
cancer than the rest of the population.
Earlier this year, as another example, the Centers for Disease Control
released a statistical report indicating that homosexual men made up 65
percent of the reported primary and secondary syphilis cases in 2007. A
report from the Public Health Agency of Canada in 2006 revealed that 51
percent of people infected with HIV in the country were homosexual men.
In fact, the statistics on HIV/AIDS led one group, the Los Angeles Gay and
Lesbian Center, to state in 2006 that HIV/AIDS is a "gay disease," in a
billboard ad campaign geared to reducing rates of HIV infection.
While homosexualists have actively suppressed such statistics in the past and
focused on portraying HIV/AIDS as a disease affecting the whole population in
an equal fashion, the statistics' increasing undeniability has forced their
