Look at this screenshot:

IMHO, particularly with dual screens, it's most efficient
(in terms of consistency & monitor real estate)
to put _both_ taskbars edge to edge.

As Paul is aware, interestingly so, the two taskbars are _different_
slightly, in that the secondary taskbar has a couple fewer buttons.

What I recommend, particularly for dual but even for single monitor setups:
1. Set taskbar to the left or right side (if you have only 1 monitor).
o How can we further IMPROVE the efficiency of the Windows left-side desktop pane?

2. Set taskbar to the side next to the second monitor (if you have two).
o Philosophically, how do you "organize" two monitors (only applicable to those of you with dual monitors)

3. If desired, change the size of the taskbar & set taskbar to small icons
4. If desired, remove the unnecessary taskview button (thumbnail views)
5. If desired, disable the obnoxious taskbar hover preview menus
6. If desired, turn off the "show labels for taskbar icons

7. If desired, disable snap to window boundaries

8. If desired, configure the pinned folder jump list and lock it from history

10. If desired, enable the peek to preview feature of the taskbar
11. Pin to the taskbar your WinXP-style cascade accordion pull-out menu

12. Remove Cortana (it's always there anyway so you don't need the icon)
13. If necessary, overlay the time/date display (I randomize time zones)
o Does a clock app exist that has ClocX functionality, but digital output?

14. If desired add the "Run" icon since most commands are using Win+R
