31 Pilate said to them, "Take him yourselves and judge him by your own
law." The Jews said to him, "It is not lawful for us to put any man to

Key words were: "we would not have handed him over."
For the record the Apostle Peter is also documented as stating:

27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the
high priest asked them,
28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this
name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to
bring this man's blood upon us.

rather than men.
30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
Notice who the Apostle Peter claimed "who slew Jesus." He was not accusing
Pilate or Herod but rather he was addressing the Pharisee's Sanhedrin!!!
32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom
God hath given to them that obey him.
33 When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay
them.
Notice what the Pharisees' reaction was to the cold hard facts? They wanted to
slay the Apostles!!
The Apostle Paul plainly states who killed Jesus:
1 Thessalonians 2:14,15 (English-NIV):
14 For you, brothers, became imitators of God's churches in Judea,
which are in Christ Jesus: You suffered from your own countrymen the
same things those churches suffered from the Jews,
15 who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and also drove us out.
They displease God and are hostile to all men.
Notice the fine points made by the Apostle Paul in this little bit of
scripture!
He brought out in two verses:
1) " those churches suffered from the Jews" Those sweet harmless
little Jews were committing "hate crimes" against Christians!
2) "the Jews, who killed the Lord Jesus"
3) "They displease God.." The Temple is still in ruins as a testament
to that fact! Undeniable wouldn't you say? And last BUT certainly not
least by any stretch of the imagination:
4) "They (Jews) are hostile to all men."
Disciple Stephen testifies: "Which one of the prophets did your forefathers not
persecute? Yes, they killed those who made announcement in advance concerning
the coming of the righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers YOU have become."
Acts 7: 52 This was from the speech Stephen gave the Jews about all of their
transgressions just before he (Stephen) got stoned to death by Jews who could
not contradict what he was telling them. Jews have quite a Biblical record as
killing people or having them harassed by government when their sins, hypocrisy,
and evil are held up to their faces!

among the people.

From the above passages we learn:
a) [T]here arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue

b) Stephen "spoke things they couldn't refute" as recorded with the words:
"they were not able to resist the wisdom.."

NOTICE who Jesus said had the greater sin in verse 11. It was Jewish
High Priest Ca'iaphas that had Jesus handed over as cited below in
