Public transportation to downtown San Diego then along the water front. Hit Pt. Loma and a national monument before catching the wind when heading east along the San Diego river.

A few years ago, I took a group on a my Mid-City Mixie route that incorporates as much dirt as possible riding through central areas of one of the nations biggest cities:

That is a classic "bike by the bay". I love it. Esteban's "Mid-City Mixie" looks great as well. Would be honored to ride either of them with you folks.
