FS - 61cm Atlantis, complete.

I never thought I'd do this, but must cull the herd and this one is now overlap - and is the one most likely to sell. If not one size too large for me, I would build it up with fat tires and keep riding it. I purchased it in Dec. 2011 from someone whom had Rivendell build it up but apparently did not take to it. When I got it, it had about 200 miles on it. It came with fenders, but I added front & rear mini racks, Soma interrupter levers, and PDW fender stay breakaways. Also, I had a bit of chainsuck, so dropped the middle ring down 2 teeth (to 34) and replaced the 109mm Shimano BB with a pricey SKF 113mm to get a bit more room down there. I'm selling complete except for pedals and computer.

I'm probably pushing the envelope on the price - $3,000, PayPal preferred, shipped free CONUS, via Bike Flights and will ship fenders separately. A build like this would be over $4,000. This is the nicest used Atlantis you'll see for sale! No dents or scratches (except the touched-up right chain stay and some minor abrasions to the Honjo fenders). 

FS w/o pedals or computer. I'd be willing to buy back the racks, fenders and saddle for half MSRP and adjust the price accordingly. Contact me off-list, please. Take a look if it's your size:

Yep, just too large to take it to the next step - fatter (than 35mm) tires. No stand over room. I've recently that powder coat canti- Homer that I love for mixed surface riding here on the east coast:

So, with 8 bikes, something had to go! (That, and I need two crowns on molars!)

I've loved the Atlantis and would have moved it to "touring" mode if there were more stand over. All in all, I've have over 6,000 miles on it and selling for about what I paid in 2011. I hope I don't regret it! Should I? I hope not. The tubing seems a bit stiff, though I did not mind it. And, I really never cured the chainsuck problem entirely, probably due to the "80's-style" chain stays (not oval / not crimped).

Yes, some over lap there. 

I'm re-thinking my options right now as well... wanting some bikes with larger tire capacity and tubeless tires, and trying to work out the best way to get there!

Trade for a 58 cm Atlantis (don't look at me!); or

I know a guy in Huntington Beach who needs a bike in your area; I think it will fit him just fine. :-)

Recent chain suck problem solved. I had 3 - 4 cases in the last couple months, but in preparation for (possibly) selling, I took the middle ring off and inspected it carefully. Noticing what looked like shark teeth - (funny how hard that is to detect while mounted on the crank!) - I replaced the ring, but had not ridden it since. Today, I took it for a good spin and Viola! Seems OK. The big ring that came with the bike is a 48T, so I think I was favoring the middle ring more than I would if it were a 46T.

By the way, I had an inquiry from someone who did not want the saddle, fenders or either of the two racks. I priced the at Ben's Cycles' prices and divided by half and came to a sales price of $2753.50. Given that I would not have to ship the fenders, I'd round it off to $2725.00 without those components.

Interesting observation about the worn middle ring.  I had annoying chain suck on my Atlantis, & managed stop a couple of times before it had jammed.  It looked like the chain was "hanging up" on the middle ring, failing to release.  The ring didn't look that worn.  Later I replaced both the big & middle & chain all at once & had forgotten about the problem until now.  I usually use a 44 big & 34 middle, sometimes a 46 big, and they seem to wear out together, more or less.  It takes years.  Friends who have 24-36-48 cranksets seem to wear out a lot of middle rings & few big ones.
