Does MLO use any encryption for Wi-Fi sync?

I use MLO on Windows and on Android. Wi-Fi sync works great on my network at home.

But if I work elsewhere, say at Starbucks, how secure is MLO data in transit while the sync is performed? Is it sent in clear?

I would also be interested in knowing this.
Especially since some work tasks could contain sensitive information.

Given the lack of a reply, I think by now we should assume that data is not encrypted.

If someone has the time, please run Wireshark and have a look at the traffic.

About three or four years ago there was a blog post stating that the transport legs of MLO cloud sync use SSL. I can't find that post any more.

Yes we are using SSL when syncing to MLO cloud. It means the transfer is encrypted. 
WiFi sync relays on encryption provided by WiFi network. We do not implement additional encryption there.

Is it still the case that there's no encryption when synchronizing over Wi-Fi?

This means it's unsafe to use Wi-Fi sync in a school/work Wi-Fi environment, where any node on the network could intercept all your tasks in plain text.
