Hello

I have just moved my MLO to a new PC running Windows10 (x64) with a 27inch 4K (i.e. 3840x2160) resolution screen.
My text size / scaling is set to "150% Recommended".

How do I stop the MLO text being slightly blurred?

Cheers

J

Try this compatibility mode fix, it worked for me.

Yes I agree that that fix will stop MLO text from looking blurred, however all it is doing is stopping the DPI scaling completely for MLO. The result is that MLO text is absolutely minute!

==> Nice try but no, this is not a satisfactory answer!

Here are some screenshots of the problem on my 4K monitor.

i.e. I need text to be scaled to at least 150% (ideally 200%) or it becomes pretty tiring on the eyes to read...

Can I just say that this is an ENORMOUS issue for me.

On my 4K monitor almost all text in almost all applications is way to small to read without difficulty, so we are forced to use Windows's "Scaling" to something other than 100%. I have tried using 150%, 175 and 200%.

At any of these settings if I do nothing, MLO's entire interface is blurred.
If I tick: "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" then then text becomes painfully small.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE can the MLO developers fix this problem.

With thanks

J

UPDATE:
Just to say, I simply cannot stomach the default blurriness of MLO.

So I have been forced into ticking "Disable display scaline on high DPI setting" on the shortcut to MLO.  The text is of course way too small, so I have to put reading glasses on and sit very close to the screen.

It works up to a point, but various things simply aren't readable. When this happens I have to exit MLO, untick the above and go back in.

Obviously the above is not a great long-term solution. Please can someone raise this blurred interface & scaling issue with MLO developers. Modern applications (e.g. the msOffice suite) don't have this problem.

Thanks

J

J,

This might not be the long term solution but it will save you the hassle to tick and untick the high DPI setting:-

When u need to read small text, on the keyboard press the "windows" key + "=" this will enable the zoom in feature of windows. Of course, after zoom in, the words will look pixelated but at least u can quickly glance at the info. Then, press "windows" + "-" to zoom out.

Hope this is helpful, for now.

Hi John

MLO natively supports different font size for task tree, for views names, the notes area.
See the screenshot with the example.

The setting is here:
Tools/options/themes and formating.
click on Edit.
choose Fonts&Icons tab.
Uncheck the Use default font name and size.
Press the button with 3dots.
Edit the font type and size.

Hope this will help
