Hello cBioPortal Discussion Group,

besides working with cBioPortal, I plan to integrate the Standalone Oncoprint(JS) in other applications.
I followed the instructions in the readme but I can't get it to run.
I'm not an expert in javascript and node.js but it's probably caused by incompatibilities between the codebase and your test/sample scripts (since you already state that they may not be up to date).

Would it be possible to provide some kind of API documentation of OncoprintJS or maybe working samples, because it is really difficult understanding how to use it when neither is available.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Best,

Philipp

Hi Philipp,

Thank you for contacting us. The author of this library is currently away for a week. We will get back to you with a response once he gets back.

Thanks,
Ritika

Hi Philipp,

I apologize for that - we're busy around here and haven't found the time to keep the examples up to date. We'll do our best to get to that soon, in the meantime I can tell you that you can most easily install it via npm https://www.npmjs.com/package/oncoprintjs, you can require it as a commonJS module, and its API is described in this typescript file: https://github.com/cBioPortal/oncoprintjs/blob/master/index.d.ts

Best,
Adam

Hi Adam,

thank you for your response.
I will have a look at it and see if the typescript file is enough for understanding the usage.
Nevertheless I would really appreciate some working examples if you find the time for implementing some.

Best,
Philipp
