Hi,
I stitched a Gigapixel Panorama with 180 images. Due a fast movement of the clouds PTGUI struggles to stitch it. After using the "align to grid" function it looked much better, but on the right site it getting errors in the sky (clouds). Is there a way to manually correct this.
I really appreciate any hint and help

Hi Alex,

I don't think there's much you can do about the misalignments in the
clouds. Perhaps you can try moving the images by hand (switch Panorama
Editor to Edit Individual Images mode) to make the breaks less obvious.

It's best to let PTGui ignore any control points in the clouds. You can
do this by unchecking those images in the 'Use Control Points Of:' list
in the Optimizer tab. Then you can at least get the remainder of the
panorama properly aligned.

But perhaps other users may have a better idea?

Kind regards,

I use a different lens (or zoom) to take a series with clouds.

For example, from a tripod I use 200-600mm tele-lens and use 600m for ground and 200m for clouds.
From the Mavic 3 drone I use a tele-camera (161mm and 12MPix) for ground and main camera (24mm and 20MPix) for clouds.

So I have another problems:

1. Hoverwer clouds are easy to upscale but the noise is upscaled too. Topaz Gigapixel AI makes good work. But sometimes it is better to use Denoise AI and upscale by PTGui.
2. I must create control points between photos from the main camera and tele-camera manually because the algorithm rarely finds.

I think PTGui should improve 2. point. I can share a series for tests.

https://nkg-mn.com/gigapixel/bielsko-biala/2023-03-12-kozia_gorka3/ - my latest 120K full spherical gigapixel panorama when I used the mentioned technique. Stitched from >500 photos from tele-camera (-45° to 0°) and a few upscaled photos from main to replenish the clouds and nadir (-90° to -45°).

Click anywhere to show 'Align to Grid'. Can you send me instructions on how to make your photos?
