I got my kit.  It's s/n 48.  Guess I know what I'm doing this weekend.

Got Pidp-1 s/n 127 today.  Already made one mistake I see...  I soldered the bottom  front white panel #13 instead of the bottom white otto panel #9 which look identical front side.  I should have 'read' the instructions instead of just following the video as Oscar made a special 'note' in the instructions!!!!  Doesn't 'look' like to big of a deal... so see how it goes later in the build.

One other thing is the large front panels (otto and the white and blue) are have a very obvious curve in them -- not nice and flat like you'd expect a PCB to be.  See how that goes later in the build.

I infer that there are numerous folks here don't realize that there is a Google Group devoted to the PiDP-1 where they should be sharing their experiences and benefiting from the experiences of others.  They're missing out on a *lot* of useful information there!  Just sayin' ...

Ummm...

I highly doubt that "numerous folks here don't realize that there is a Google Group...", as I'm receiving this thread BECAUSE I'm subscribed to the Google Group highlighted!!  And all of the immediately preceding messages talking about PiDP assembly mistakes are part of the conversation threads within this Google Group.

We are all seeing and responding to these messages BECAUSE we're in the Google Group!!

OK.  Be that as it may.  IMO discussions related to the PiDP-1 belong there.
it seems like simple common sense to me :-}.  YMMV.

I would agree with you that PiDP discussions belong in the PiDP Google group/groups.  But the point I was trying to make is that I believe they already are!!
I will say this.... I'm NOT seeing any discussions that aren't already in this group... including your (what I believe to be incorrect) admonition and inference that we're all missing out because we're somehow not in this group...

For instance, I could gather a list of New York Times subscribers and send them an ad to subscribe to the New York Times....
But that would be a waste of time and money because they ALREADY SUBSCRIBE TO THE NEW YORK TIMES!!!

With that, I will stop responding to this...  Carry on, everyone...

Jeff,

I think you are missing something - there are two groups being discussed, PiDP-10 (This group) and PiDP-1 (The other group) -each is specific to a different model.

Sorry guys, I'll butt out.

All I see is PDP-10 group .  Clicking around I haven't seen how to connect to any other group. Plus, the PiDP-10 is the first/'only' group I belong too, so maybe I am missing something...
