SMBR Submission

Hello all,
Due to Covid-related restrictions and being quite busy with work I
have not had much opportunity to get back into riding - SMBR seemed
the perfect way to start again.

Here is my SMBR submission:
Distance: 16km; start and end from IIT-Dharwad campus

A few years ago I would have scoffed at a 16km ride, but today I am
quite satisfied not by the distance but for having done it...

Hi Abhijit,

Nice concise report. You remind me of the headwinds for the Chitradurga Brevet from IISc Randonneur. I’d say it’s similar to the Flemish winter season (wall of wind sort of 😅). BTW, will my commutings count (recent rides are not on Strava though) as SMBRs 😀? No sambar here but I go up a small hill & come back down, 20-22 kms a day.

Hi Sourav,

On some days it is very much a wall of wind: I get swept by crosswinds biking to/from lab. Today was certainly not bad- I'm just out of shape

Scrictly speaking my ride does not count as SMBR, but I think it might be acceptable.

I am making idli and sambar every Sunday, but not riding. I guess I'll
have to do something about that :)

Also check out the "Coffeeneuring Challenge" especially for those in the US/EU. Naveen and I successfully completed that challenge in 2015- it's similar to SMBR.
