Hi

I am a first time use of Thetis and trying to setup CW in combo with the Herlems-lite2
For the receive side I got the radio working.

While transmit CW, I got no side-tone during transmit, but the radio is keyed an cw signal send out. Mon is on
When I tune the radio I do hear a tone.
Can some guide me to get this done?

I followed the Thetis  page 120 manual to setup CW and connected  pin 7-8 to the keyer
Below  3 screen shot for the setup

Thetis
Setup
Transmit Tab
Monitor and set TX AF to say 20 and tick the 'Ignore Master AF volume'

Sidetone volume is set by the Master AF Volume control on the main Thetis screen.

That should do it if your normal audio is working fine.

Beware latency in the sidetone. That will depend totally on your audio setup/computer and may or may not be a problem. It's why we need the separate Teensy CW AF board.

You can add the AK4851 Companion Board available from Hermes Lite 2 Plus.
This is a great addon and adds several missing features .

I think the number is AK4951, and one should explain that
this is essentially an audio codec. Note the FPGA must "know"
about this, so a special version of the firmware is necessary.

What this gives is essentially a "mic" and "phone" jack as
known from other radios, which may be very useful if the HL2
is not remote but within arm's length on your desk.

Hi Peter,

For CW and a stock HL2, I suggest you use SDRConsole. This software does a good job at low audio latencies.

I personally don't think the AK4951 add-on is necessary or worthwhile. There has been much discussion regarding this in the group:
