I really enjoy the Hermes it works very well for me and I now have 3 of them

I was wondering STEVE  if you have been working on any designs which include 6M

Yes there are a few that claim 6M but overall there over sampled or poor designs from what I have read and seen.

If not does anyone have recommendations as to good transverters that can be used ?

Doesn't look like DEMI or Khune make 6M transverters any longer and I haven't come across anything else except the UL3 Ukraine individuals offerings.

Thanks much

Hello,

I am not working on nor have any plans for designs with 6M. The technical reasons for no 6M are the same as discussed many times before:

I don't use a transverter and can't make a good recommendation. Perhaps someone else can. There are past recommendations:

Hola

A friend of mine received one last week and the first impressions are good but he is still testing it.

Not interested in the Brick2sdr

It does t do a lot of things like Thetis does and it's not supported

Also from what I have seen and read there has been many unhappy.

So only transverters or one of Steve's  designs am I interested in.

Thank you

There is also the possible new Anan 10 (which is really an updated original Hermes)...

That's kind of in a way what started this. I had one on order. Was about to pay my invoice which I received the other day. Then found out that there is absolutely no high-pass filters in that 10E revised same as the original 10s. That's a huge problem, especially for guys near other stations or close to a.m. broadcast or stations that do multi radios

It wouldn't have cost them probably more than 10 to 20 bucks on their production to add high-pass filters to this and just mark the price up another 50 to 100 bucks. It would have been well worth it for them.

But instead without high-pass filters in place I can just imagine the problems that are going to happen with ADC overloads problems with guys on 80 m running CW at 500 w or more that are only a few miles away from others trashing 40 m 40 m trashing 20 m 20 m trashing 10 m it goes on

Just a really dumb move.

I've bought an old ssb electronics lt6s transverter and works well, anyway i think a dedicated hl2 will be better for the use w/transverters. It's a little tricky to change antennas and connections for using hf and 6M.
I wonder why a good project like the one from M5EVT (that made a transverter board for 6M and 2M for HL2) don't led to a production of a kit or  a
pcb. It will be a interesting solution, maybe with the add of a ldmos amplifier pallet...
Anyone knows why?
Thank you so much.

I use the IO board Aux RF input and low Power output connections for a transverter (splif IF). The main RF goes to my HF multiband antenna.  You can switch between them using SDR app features or a script, or in my case I have custom firmware on the IO board the automatically switches on 6M and higher bands.

Is anyone working on a next gen Hermes Lite2?
Maybe we should help this by raising some $$$ from the community.
Faster FPGA and 10 watts would be my dream.
Curent Hermes Lite2 and Thetis are playing extremely well here with Micro PA-50+ intermediate amp.
I use the excellent Ukrainian dual band VHF/UHF 12 watt transerter from eBay.
Its only problme is UHF bandwidth for repeaters.
The designer is in Karkiv and he is ducking for cover these days but claims a UHF bandwidth upgrade is coming..

Consider the HL2 like the best possible engine you can put in a car or a truck. All the rest are addons, frame of the car. If you want to add a nice stereo in the car, you can add it.
What I try to say, we have a very robust engine. If you need more power, buy an amplifier. If you want 6m, buy a converter, if you want to have high accurate Pure Signal, get yourself a good RF Sampler.
So, it does not make any sense to build a new Hermes lite radio.
This open source project is not following the marketing we are used to get from radio manufacturers who try to make new radio's with new features and lure you into buying the newest possible model.
Here you buy the core, the HL2 and all the rest are addons.

Alternative if you want to spend more money buy the new / revised Anan 10E, 15-20 watt and 160-6mtr.
