I am brand new to 3d printing, CAD and CNC so this has been a huge learning experience for me.  I wasted a ton of plastic trying to figure it all out hence all the colors.  Fun times though even with all the mistakes I've been making.

The Z axis needs some work but it is close.  I'll run some real test shortly.  Please let me know if you see any glaring issues.

Hi Robert, your build looks neat! More colors --> more awesomeness :)
I'm sure the lead screws will provide super-quiet precise operation. Thus, my only advice is to go for a proper DC spindle instead of using a noisy Dremel tool.
Cheers,
Carlos

What did you use to lock the lead screw, the black part?

Thank you!

Hi Robert, first of all congrats, it' a very nice build!

I would like to know if your project files are available anywhere, I would very much like to use lead screws on my Cyclone also.

Cheers
Rodrigo

Sorry guys, I missed a couple of these posts. My files should be on onshape.com but let me know if not and I'll provide them somehow. You can find some of the parts I used here https://www.smw3d.com/8mm-acme-screw/

Your machine is super. I build the same and would like to change the threaded rods to spindles. Can i get your modified stls for the x and y carriage?

I just finished rebuilding mine so I'll wait a bit before putting new stuff but just a question.

Do you guys cut the leadscrews? If yes how? Think a normal metal saw isn't enough to bit them
