Having stripped my 125w

I thought a few picture of the process might be useful.

There are part numbers in some of the pics for seal and drives and so on.

Regards Rob

The photos are fantastic-I am going through the process of rebuilding a machine in a similar condition. The Rams are all now rebuilt with new seals and rods and I have primed most of the digger arm. I am starting on the control block soon and would like to know where you got the new parts for this-especially the new rubber covers and levers.
Thanks for your help-great forum
best wishes
Mark

Hi Mark,

I found looking on the net a company called WEBTEC, sure they sell the later design control valve.

I emailed them and they sent me the rubbers covers as mine was well shot, due to the water ingress the lever pins had worn, these I had to make..

I found they are retained by a ball bearing forced in spreading the end and knurled area.

The lever arm are painted and new end caps are from Rs components.

I replaced all the hoses on mine, I'll post there telephone number due to there really reasonable cost.(cheap)

Only pain on mines been the main slew pin, ass to remove (looked like an orange skin) rusted to hell.
took 20 tonne to move mm at a time.

Bearing shells I found to run a hacksaw down them and break out.

Its all up together now just a front leg to paint and a single pipe clamp needed.

Be interested in your rebuild probs and cures.

Thanks for the info-do webtec have them in their catalogue or did you just measure the size etc? The slew wasnt a problem on mine-it just lifted out-fortunately it was well greased but the ram bars were really corroded. I used the machine for a few weeks and then got some really bad leaks. A couple of the control valves also leaked a little but I understand that just replacing the o-rings usually sorts this problem-is this what you found?
Thanks for your help-I will post some pictures when I get some time off work. The main other problem I have is that the cover that the seat mounts on is very badly coroded and Im thinking of just making a new one.

best wishes
Mark

I just emailed them to check the size as the new style handles looked like they was the same setup rubber wise, luckily they was., I been lucky in that the block was oil tight, so left alone.

Removing back and front cover ( lift up front cover to remove with the arm) front has a spacer washer which sits inside the front cover, the back is a circlip sprung loaded with washers and spacer (cable tie through center to keep the sequence) clean with brake cleaner then oil with hydraulic oil, push out shaft your see the o-rings  clearly.

if leaking from the slice body look here! http://s186.photobucket.com/albums/x100/rspblake/POWERFAB%20125WTD/  new version WTD but has a few picture of what the o-ring setup looks like.

My cover was shot! but a wire cup brush on a grinder, cut old panel and replaced with good sheet, came back good.

I know I'm dragging up an ancient post, but can you give me run down of the ram strip down?  I've got a 125wt a couple of the rams are leaking and need attention.  I've read about hidden grub screws or pins??  A step guide would be very useful as its my first try at hydraulics.

thanks
Jon
