Android ICS-x86 for Lenovo S103T, build 08Feb12:
[sorry for the size of the ISO, double so big because not using squashfs, therefore I zipped it]

changes:
1. enabled camera.
2. enabled screen buttons.
3. enabled lcd light dimming.
4. integrated google apps (thanks to TK for links on how to enable android market).
5. fixed white screen issue (need to verify, at least it fixed android terminal).
6. up-to-date with the latest changes on android-x86 git server as per today.

working:
1. touch screen, keyboard, touchpad.
2. audio (playback/recording)
3. ethernet
4. wifi
5. bluetooth
6. camera (video/photo)
7. screen buttons
upper left button -> Back button
middle left button -> Rotate between portrait and landscape (only works in tablet mode => rotate lcd and flap it down)
lower left button -> audio mute/unmute
8. lcd lights (dimmed when idle)

not working:
1. suspend/resume

Robill

models here, never heard of yours before though. Each model has most likely a quite different hardware, so
I am sorry to say that an attempt to answer your question here seems futile. If you are a developer and try
to build yourself, you might want to search more information about your model and lurking in this group long
enough to get bits of information of particular hardware that corresponds to yours. If you are a user, then I guess
you have no choice than to wait for a developer who has the same model as yours or start learning to build :)
Anyway, once I am done with the next build I will push my changes to the git server, so s103t users can build
their own build, so anyone can see what changes was done.

robill,

I am using a HP TM2.  It works with the 2.2 generic release (touch screen but no wifi).  It works with ICS ASUS laptop release (no touch and no wifi).  I was hoping that your modes would work for me but it must have been builts on the eeepc ICS release.  I have problems with the eeepc version as it get to the initial screen then comes up with the UI not working window.  I am getting this with your version as well.

It would be great if you could get the touch and broadcom wifi working on the ASUS laptop ICS release.  Then I am sure it would work for me.

Otherwise give us some detail instructions on how to get the touch screen working and the broadcom wifi driver installed.

thx

I tried the previous version on the HP EliteBook Tablet PC and did not
work.
It 's useless to try this?

Hey Robill,

thanks for your great work! The build works really well as usb live
image. unfortunately it gets really laggy when installed to a sd
drive. the framework app seems to crash and restart evry 10 seconds,
browser is not working, system ui is crashing (maybe due to framework
crashes) and market cannot communicate with google while data transfer
and wifi is given.

maybe there is something wrong with the installation process? As i
mentioned the live image works great. but when i want permanent apps
installed from market, i need to install the system to an sd card or
harddrive, right?

I installed the image to my main disk (which is an SSD replacement of
the original hard disk). Very nice performance overall, I have no issues
with WiFi or slow-downs. Things that do not work for me include calendar
sync and streaming of audio or video. The gallery doesn't show my Picasa
pictures but google+ app does. With some apps the portrait mode display
is upside-down (switched 180°).

Thanks for providing the image,
Reiner

allright, I got it working just by keeping the fat32_filesystem on my
sd card. slow performance occured due to ext3.... btw, the first
installation killed my wifi. it simply didnt show up while booting, no
power/led at screen bottom. at the same time the power switch was on,
the hardware was not broken. I found the solution to hit Fn+F5 several
times until the wifi came back. it seems there is a hardware killing
issue sometimes when the kernel is not shut down legaly, turning off
the wifi card. I even got a message from my windows 7 partition that
my battery was broken. after regaining the wifi and rebooting, this
issue never showed up again.
nevertheless this was a very freaking situation for some minutes ;-)

Things to try:
1. change your AP channel to 1, 6 or 11.
2. use dynamic address.

about wifi suddenly unable to turn on, it happened to me long time ago on Ubuntu 10.10. The switch button didn't help at all in this case, like you I found the Fn+F5 solution. So for all s103t owners, please keep in mind that bluetooth and wifi can be turned off in firmware and cannot be enabled by the wifi/bt button switch. Also Fn+F5 works only on windows, so keep your windows installation handy for this kind of situation.

same Problem here with the keyboard. It seems the language setting
doesnt effect the keyboard layout. I read about some way to manually
edit the .kcm file. This requires a bit of time and some root rights,
too (e.g. root-explorer.apk should do the trick). Here is the link

Thank you tahnk you very much. I am glad to try your image on my
s10-3t and i am very happy to see so many people using s10-3t and
sharing their experiences.
I would like to say. everything is woking ok for me except bluetooth
connection. I can pair devices however can not connect for using this
devices.
I couldnt check for wireless lan because i have modded my s10-3t and
removed my wi-fi card in order to use a broadcom crystal hd. i am
using a usb wi-fi adapter instead.
As soon as i re insert my wifi card i would let you know about my wi-
fi experiences.

I am very happy to see that the side buttons are working for back and
screen rotation.

Thank you again.

Woow I would like to hug you:) This build works like charm on my s10
3t.Everything works fine.I remember you telling about the
accelerometer. Yes, the device does have one for protecting the hard
disk.I've heard,it was taken from the erstwhile thinkpad series.Infact
I remember downloading a driver for this from some thinkpad forum and
playing games like the penguin race(forget the real name), car race
etc; Could you by any chance make use of that in android?

nice work. the best build up to date.
things that not worked for me:
1. camera: all i see is colored lines than the app crash.
2. youtube. actually all the videos i tried (mp4,flv,mkv,wmv) not
worked for me.

Getting in my camera, too, were the colored lines, but after
restarting the camera to work.

I have another problem. Battery power is always displayed the same
way. For example, if I turn on the notebook and charge it up to 75%
off or the battery is fully discharged light indicates 75%. The charge
is reset to the correct display when you connect the charger. but to
turn it off value does not change.

just when you turn on the lock screen is not completely extinguished.

And more. Maybe someone knows how to give root access to applications?

Finally, i was able to install it on my S10-3t. It boots and apps are working so far.
Wifi is not working, every time i switch it on, it turns off after a couple of sec.
Buttons and camera are not working too. Is there any way to acces the terminal to find what error it makes ?

1. double check your hardware (wifi, button) on your windows installation. Do they still works?
2. to get the logs:
a. run Android terminal, then:
> logcat

or

b. run in debug mode, type exit 2x, when the UI is ready:
press Alt + F2 (note that if you do this you cannot get back to the UI!), then:
> cat /data/log.txt

Even better if you can upload that log.txt somewhere (pastebin maybe?) where we can look at.

Ok, something is weird... I don't have any folder named data on root. Do I made a mistake when installing ? It would be logical that nothing works because of this...

Installed on HD via a bootable SD card made with unetbootin

Yeah, that's likely the reason, some system resources needs /data partition (wifi surely does need).
Looks like something wrong with your installation. Have you followed the guide in www.android-x86.org
for installation? If you have spare partition  on your hdd, better reformat is as ext3 and install on it
(just follow the installation process). This is the way most of us do.

It would help if Winrar made their support for 7zip good. It's frustrating to use two zip managers in an OS I rarely use. But then again, Linux overcomes that need giving built-in support.

Currently, no way to know what the data is telling you.

Thank you! white screen for half a month of daily use has not
appeared.
There are only a couple of wishes: to do the job Flash player.

And can you include in the firmware program SuperUser, which will give
root privileges to other applications?
Is it real? please answer.

Just took the leap and put Android on my S10-3t for the first time
today. Your work and the work of this whole group is much appreciated!
It works a lot better than I had expected.
Top 3 things I'm left wanting are YouTube, Superuser, and system
suspend/wake. Glad to hear it sounds like I'll have these soon. I hope
you can get sleep/suspend in the next build, as it would drastically
increase the usability of it for me.
Also, I'm sure that I'm not the first to notice this, but it might be
