More on the possible Doo-Nanny wedding:

If we have our SAME SEX MARRIAGE PERFORMED AT DOONANNY could ya'll perform songs
If this wedding happens and takes place at Doo-Nanny, I've asked my friend, and fellow poet, Brother Corey Connor, an ordained minister, if he'd agree to do the rites or whatever they're called for the marriage.

He's an iconic figure of Doo-Nanny and the Shadowville All-Stars as well, so Corey would be a given, best choice as pastor for the event.

I've written him, so hopefully we'll be see a response here soon:

Corey, there's been some talk of a wedding at Doo-Nanny this year, and naturally I suggested you as pastor and am passing the details as I know them to you, real or imagined, it sure sounds like an interesting idea.

The discussion is on the Forum this link leads to:
Pleasure Dome! Wow! What a poem! By the way, is there really going to be a reception and Same Sex Marriage or marriages performed this year at DooNanny? If so this is wonderful! Maybe Rachel Madden or Rosie O'Donnel could MC. Let us all know. We are so glad that the GAY LIFE STYLE is now EQUAL to other life styles in America! Thanks for helping. Your HIV-AIDS fund raising makes you like Bob Geldof and Bono. You deserve a NOBLE PRIZE! Thanks! The Gay Community Remembers all who help in the struggle for ORIENTATION EQUALITY.
I'm pretty sure Butch Anthony, Robert Seven, Phil Cheney, among the head honchos at Doo-Nanny will approve, there have been several unique weddings there at the Eoods of Wonder before, so it won't be a first.

I'd also see about tapping Corey Connor, a pastor-poet friend of mine, to hold the services or whatever they call it.

Sending Corey a note about it right now.

Which I just did, right here.

The same sex marriage issue is more a struggle for legal recognition of same sex unions so that the people involved may be afforded the same rights, responsibilities, benefits and privileges of marriage enjoyed by every other citizen. It's really a civil rights issue. Presently, LGBT people who live in and are productive, tax paying members of your community do not have the same legal right to marry and share property that you have. That's just not right.

Here's the Google Images gallery for "Doo-Nanny" + "Wedding", giving a good view of past events there:

If they really want to get legally married, they're welcome to come up here to Maryland. It's a long day's drive from where you are, but I'd be happy to have them stay in my guest room to keep their expenses down or show them the local no tell motel, and take them to the local courthouse to get the marriage license. They can either have a civil ceremony there or a private one at my house. Then they can have their big to do and reception at the Doo-Nanny for friends, family, gawkers and stalkers all legal like. Just a thought.

Excellent thoughts... I'll pass them on to the couple, it could even be an excuse for me to come up your way and visit, and even possibly talk Doris and Brother Dave into coming along.

I reposted your ideas on the Columbus GA Forum so the gay couple can find them... and here, so you can see how that looks, in case you don't want to go all the way over there:
If we have our SAME SEX MARRIAGE PERFORMED AT DOONANNY could ya'll perform songs exclusively by the punk band THE MEAT PUPPETS. You also mentioned a reception which certainly would have food. Could THICK SIZZLIN'SAUSAGE TYPE KILBOSSAS sopped in thick brown molasses be on the menu. Washed down with sparkling Ginger Ale. Potato salad or pasty white cream potatoes served warm with a white rue sauce would be nice also. Maybe other gay couples could recommit their vows too. Make it a big party. You could use the opportunity to present information on your HIV-AIDS philanthropy fund raiser too. Maybe someone could design a KLAUS NOMI style face blend image with your high resolution graphic head image like a special promotion on a triangle rainbow flag. You should dress up and wear make up like KLAUS NOMI too at the event since KLAUS NOMI was one of the very first HIV-AIDS AWARENESS SPOKESMEN. These are good ideas. Please try to explore the possibilities by letting everyone you know who is GAY or GAY FRIENDLY that marriage ceremonies and related festivities may be part of the DooNanny this year. It is up to you to promote it. Write a special marriage tune also. Sort of like TRUCK STOP WOMAN or IT'S RAINING MEN.
Well Reverend Corey Connor has some very interesting offers and suggestions for this possible event, here's the first:

I'm sure that me & Brother Dave would rather drive, as we have that Jack Kerouac "See The USA" fire in our blood, inherited from our father who was a Night Rider in Black, or so the gypsy girl told me once.

Doris and the gay guys might definitely want to fly ahead, and we'll meet y'all there in Perryville directly.
