Corey, there's been some talk of a wedding at Doo-Nanny this year, and naturally I suggested you as pastor and am passing the details as I know them to you, real or imagined, it sure sounds like an interesting idea.

The discussion is on the Forum this link leads to:
Pleasure Dome! Wow! What a poem! By the way, is there really going to be a reception and Same Sex Marriage or marriages performed this year at DooNanny? If so this is wonderful! Maybe Rachel Madden or Rosie O'Donnel could MC. Let us all know. We are so glad that the GAY LIFE STYLE is now EQUAL to other life styles in America! Thanks for helping. Your HIV-AIDS fund raising makes you like Bob Geldof and Bono. You deserve a NOBLE PRIZE! Thanks! The Gay Community Remembers all who help in the struggle for ORIENTATION EQUALITY.
I'm pretty sure Butch Anthony, Robert Seven, Phil Cheney, among the head honchos at Doo-Nanny will approve, there have been several unique weddings there at the Eoods of Wonder before, so it won't be a first.

I'd also see about tapping Corey Connor, a pastor-poet friend of mine, to hold the services or whatever they call it.

Sending Corey a note about it right now.

Which I just did, right here.

Same sex marriage is still against the law in both Georgia and Alabama. You can have a commitment ceremony at the Doo-Nanny, which is basically a wedding without a marriage license, but you certainly don't need me to travel all that way just to officiate. Pretty much anybody can do that, even you or Butch or Rob Seven.

True, I mentioned that there may be a legality situation with such a wedding, and assume they intend it as sort of symbolic.

And as for a pastor, Charles Laster has been known to "officiate":

A truly symbolic, and potentially more effective, gesture would be for the couple to actually go to their local courthouse and apply for a marriage license requiring the local court to enforce an unjust law. Such 'in your face' civil demonstrations of resolve are often catalysts to real change.
