Dearest WWT team :D
I'm so excited to meet you all super super soon!
I have a question that I need answered ASAP. . .and it could be fun!
We have a lot of free time when we're in Peterborough and I feel that we could possibly find time for another water learning op!
However, I can't think of anything off the top of my head to try to organize.
Is there anything that you would love to learn more about or think is missing from the schedule so far that Peterborough might be able to offer???
So far I have us scheduled for learning opportunities surrounding:
privatization of water- nestle - trucking water 50km to be bottled, mega quarry
Conservation, water quality, dams, LEED certified buildings and conserving water that way
Hatcheries (fish)!
water treatment plant
wetlands conservation
Walkerton tragedy + well 5 E.coli contamination
Slow rain- rain barrels, depaving, permeable pavement
Site 41 in Tiny + Rama first nations
Activists from Sharbot Lake (not entirely sure yet what this will entail)
Farmers re: the drought this year and effects on agriculture/water usage etc.
Ideas!? We could also do something slightly unrelated or only distantly related to water. . .like an aquarium or something? I'm very open to suggestions. What are your interests? What are we missing?
Let me know! :D
