Hello everyone!

I have two questions about Microsoft Excel worksheets.
1. If my document consists of multiple worksheets, what is the easiest
way to rename a specific worksheet?
2. How can I duplicate a worksheet?
Thank you!

I'm using the installed, ap-based version of Excel in Office 365.

To rename the sheet , I press alt+q, type rename sheet, and cursor down and hit enter before typing its name.
TO duplicate the sheet I press alt+q, type "copy sheet", and cursor down to "move or copy sheet". There's a checkbox in there called "create a copy" which will duplicate the chosen sheet for you.
Shift+f11 is the hotkey for a new blank sheet, if that's useful.

Sean.

Hello, Pásztor

To rename a sheet, I like to use the shortcut alt, h, o,r (all pressed one after the other. Not together!)
NVDA says "unknown" but ignore that and simply type in your new name. Press enter when finished and NVDA will call out the sheet name that you have typed.

There are various ways to move and copy sheets that depend on what is already linked to the sheet and how much of it you want to copy. The following article will give you very clear instructions of each method:

Thanks, sean,

I have been using Excel for many years now and I never knew about "alt-Q" It looks to be a very useful resource!

All the best,

😊 far more useful than my response, thanks Cearbhall.
I need to remember H O R.
I still like NAF to attach a local file to an email in Outlook, although I more often just paste files in these days.

Sean,

These skills are all useful, indeed!

Do you know of any alternative to the old method of sending a file to outlook to become an attachment! That seems to be missing in Office 365. I, like you, hav resorted to copying and pasting the file into a new message nowadays. I hoped "share" would do it, but no luck!

If you have in NVDA advanced configurations checked the UIA usage for Excel, just press F6 and you will be placed in the list of sheets...

Hi Cearbhall
Choosing mail recipient from my send to menu in Windows still opens Outlook for me.
Pasting is probably just as quick, though. If you paste into an open message the file is immediately attached as I'm sure you know. You can also paste into a folder (like the inbox) to start an empty message, which saves you pressing ctrl+n then ctrl+v.
Hope that's useful.

S.

Hi,
Alt + h + o open a menu which you can review by up and down arrows. This menu will give you many options, e.g. You can use R to change sheet name, Use M to duplicate a sheet. When you hit M, use down arrow to find options, then press tab and you will find a check box to copy the file, select and then enter.

Alt H + S takes you to different sheet editing options.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Azhar

Hi all,
Just to add to the discussion...
I find the easiest way to rename a sheet is to bring up the elements list, by hitting NVDA F7 when in browse mode in the Excel workbook. Choose sheets and then arrow up and down to the sheet you wish to rename. Hit F2 and you can rename the sheet just as you would rename a file in a folder.

I find the quickest way to delete a sheet is to go into the sheet and hit alt + h,d,s and choose OK to delete.

It is interesting that there are so many ways to operate Excel with shortcut keys.

Hello everyone!

Thank you for all the useful advice. The use of UIA in Excel was not
enabled in the advanced settings. After enabling it, I was able to move
to the desired area using the F6 key. This worked best for me, but I
appreciate all the tips!
Thank you again!
