I'm using the installed, ap-based version of Excel in Office 365.
To rename the sheet , I press alt+q, type rename sheet, and cursor down and hit enter before typing its name.
TO duplicate the sheet I press alt+q, type "copy sheet", and cursor down to "move or copy sheet". There's a checkbox in there called "create a copy" which will duplicate the chosen sheet for you.
Shift+f11 is the hotkey for a new blank sheet, if that's useful.
