I have been in this group exactly three years now, arguing
my opinion that the DP as it exists in the U.S. post-Furman
is both moral and holds practical positive consequences to
me, given the circumstances that exist in the U.S. I
certainly cannot find any reasoning in arguing that murderers
are actually only _misunderstood_.

But it has always been a source of continual wonder to me,
why there is such concern from some Europeans, about the
U.S. execution of 846 of the most disgusting members of
our species in more than 26 years, given the scope of what
is in evidence elsewhere in the world. I have often found
many of the reasons offered by some Europeans to be
hypocritical, often bigoted, and even sometimes fanatically
obscene in the extreme. Most of those reasons often
demonstrating to me a deeper, more sinister purpose then
the _protection_ of those murderers... instead containing a
quite different agenda... a hate for America itself. I have
seen some of the most bigoted and racist comments I can
imagine from all quarters... not only from Europeans, of
course... but I must say that IMHO, predominantly so.
However; what I have never understood, even though I
believe I understand the European mind much better than
probably 99% of Americans, is how some Europeans can
defend murder which exists almost at their doorstep, such
as the prior Iraq regime of Saddam, simply because they
are largely insulated from it inside the physical borders of
their own countries. What I see as defending murder by
arguing that such a regime should not have been disturbed.
What I see as accepting that such rulers are left to continue
to degrade and murder their own citizens, in a grotesque
misrule by such corrupt regimes. What I see as turning a
blind eye to it outside of their own borders, believing all
that is necessary is to ignore it, and it will go away. But
it never does.

I am sickened by some who argue that it was _moral_ to
support a regime that was ruled by murder, torture and
terror to their own innocent citizens. I NEVER felt it was
_moral_ to support such a regime. I simply believed
the price to change that regime was too high a price to bear.
Often we have to reluctantly accept the things we cannot
change, or can only change things at a price we believe
is unacceptable. That is the reason that change in Iraq
could not come from within. The Iraqi was incapable of
effecting a change at a bearable price. Torture and death
were the ONLY possible result of attempting a change.
Such is the case of all dictators.

Now it appears to me that the coalition efforts to remove
Saddam and his corrupt regime were not too high a price.
The more that regime is exposed, as shown in the URL
above, the more certain I become that I was wrong to
oppose the coalition actions. I find that some who
STILL oppose the coalition actions, do so simply in an
ego-driven, concrete-headed inability to admit that things
have not worked out as badly as first imagined. Some
seem to be simply unhappy to see Saddam go. Believing
the Iraqi was _better off_ with him in power. I pity those
who feel that way. As they have little understanding
of living in fear, IMHO. Some others argue that the
protests of groups of Iraqis in the streets show that things
have not worked out. The eternal knee-jerking defeatists.
But prior to this - protests that were not organized by the
regime were unknown. Not because protests against the
regime did not exist in the heart, but because such protests
could not be expressed publicly. Because of FEAR, which
obviously no longer exists. Because of the prior recognition
that such protests led ONLY to torture and death. We
should welcome all protests as an expression of such
new-found freedom. I don't claim that things will work out
to everyone's satisfaction. That's impossible, of course.
But I now believe that even an Islamic government would
be preferable to what was before. Although that is certainly
not what I would personally wish for.

Finally, as I enter my fourth year here, I will continue to stir
what I see as the pot of morality here in an expression of my
opinion. Regardless of the rage it may elicit from others holding
another opinion. Regardless of how some would argue that
murderers of all sorts, in every country, should be PROTECTED.
Simply because THEIR country protects them. I enjoy generating
controversy, and I am not here to _make friends_, or join in
alliances because parts of my opinion happen to coincide with
theirs, as I have seen others hope to do. I do not seek out
others who might agree with my opinions, as some sort of
crutch for my opinions, as I have seen others do. I do not
beg members here to _vote_ for me as I have seen others do.
I do not presume to insult them if they do not _vote_ for me
as I have seen others do. I insult them if I find THEIR opinions
deserve my insults. I presume that as my right... and they may
insult me for my opinions. Of course, they should concern
themselves with looking stupid when they do so (they KNOW
who they are), as I should as well.

I hope that this post generates as much reaction as my comment
that murderers "provide not one iota of benefit for our species."
Since it is obvious to me that the murderers in the now defunct
Saddam regime certainly met the argument I raised there. Those
murderers provided not one iota of benefit for our species.
Good riddance is the only emotion I feel. I am not euphoric
about the current situation... it is a mess... an upheaval of change.
All revolutions are. But, I believe we have reached the nadir
in Iraq, and believe things can only get better from this moment
on, for the ordinary Iraqi.

Of course... IMHO.

A typical FuckWit strawman, which if not challenged, will cause an
automatic invocation of FuckWit Patented Gimmick (TM) n° 166 [1] (the
'lie becomes the truth' gimmick), and will allow the creation of a
FuckWit Fabrication (TM).

No of course no Light Dweller (cf. abolitionist) has ever (to my
recollection) even _suggested_ ... sorry, 'SUGGESTED' (sic) that
murderers are 'only _misunderstood_ [sic] [2]'.

So as John Rennie has quite eloquently pointed out, FuckWit creates
strawmen, seeks to justify them, and then tries to force posters ...
sorry, 'poster's' (sic) into defending opinions that they have never
even expressed.

No wonder that FuckWit is regarded as a sanctimonious, lying old
pseudo-intellectual.

Actually, there is rather an ongoing argument from some abolitionists
who took issue with a statement I made that murderers "provide not
one iota of benefit for our species." Do you find they do, desi?
Hold back on the gimmick replies you are famous for. IMHO,

*snigger*
desi's brain tumor has taken a turn for the worse.

Once again -- I will keep providing this WARNING for the
unwary reader of desi's comments --

There are porn films which contain attempts to _create a new
world record_ for sexual coupling... usually lining up a hundred
men, each copulating for one minute in turn with the same
woman, one man jumping off and the next one jumping on.
Watching those films... We go through six stages... It starts
out as titillating, becomes ordinary, soon becomes boring,
then becomes disgusting, then actually is recognized as how
the word _obscene_ is really defined by everyone, and finally
becomes unbearable to watch such voluntary degradation by
one human.

Such are the posts of desi. At first one sees a bit of titillating
humor in his obscenities... soon it turns to being mundane...
and after a bit more becomes more repulsive than one can
imagine. At the end, his own voluntary degradation becomes
unbearable to watch. But desi, as the voluntary female penis
pincushion, is totally oblivious to this fact. As the female in
the porn film... he is only intent on setting a _world record_
for obscenity.

Good going, desi... Everyone finds you unbearable.

"homoerotic"??? Jesus, desi... Do you imply that ALL murderers are
male? It would seem that you're the one obsessed with homosexual
fears.

But I understand... You believe murderers provide benefit for our species.
Could you possibly be more specific as to the benefit murder provides to
our species? After all, if you are so sure of it... it should be simple to list
those benefits. Perhaps it's part of your "culling the herd" philosophy,
presuming that the victims are actually "undesirables," and murderers are
providing an invaluable _service_. Could you confirm that?

But I must say... as usual... how very noble of you, desi. You do not miss
the victim. You believe they are of no consequence.

Another case of the group not _voting_ for you, desi? Unless they do,
their _moral character_ is questioned by you?

Actually, sport... you're the one who keeps digging. You just keep
proving yourself more ignorant and hateful in every post. I certainly
did not _rearrange_ any words. They are desi's words... and if you
were smart enough to research google, you would see that they are.
But I have little hope you will ever achieve that intellectual pinnacle.

The two of you make a great pair. He wishes abolitionists to torture
and kill retentionists, because they are the same as plaything sparrows,
which the domestic cat tortures, kills, and brings home with feathers
flying from his jowls. You wish to put me down. Don't believe
that such is the instinctive method of the cat? --then see --

Although I have already responded to this outrageous insult to
our species from desi, it requires that it be SPECIFICALLY
archived as to desi's exact meaning. It DEMANDS that it be
kept in Usenet to demonstrate that desi here categorically states
that MURDERERS provide "'benefit' to our species." And that
MURDERERS have "value" to our species. Clearly ADMITTING
that he loves murderers, finding them no different than "everyone"
in providing "benefit." It is one of the most sickening posts he
has ever offered. Rivaling his previous posts and suggestions that --

1) Abolitionists should torture and kill retentionists as the domestic
cat tortures and kills the "plaything" sparrow.
2) That the extinction of the human race is preferable to one innocent
being put to death by the state.
3) His insulting racist remark to the memory of MLK.
4) His disgusting comments that victims have NO VALUE, because
the dead victim cannot be _honored_, _harmed_, _spat upon_,
_protected_, _have their rights protected_, _helped, _shamed_,
_libelled_, or _hurt in any way_.

Yet, he now presumes murderers do have "value." Little wonder
that I find something amiss in desi's brain.

It's getting worse, 'bob.' I haven't seen one coherent post from
you today... obviously this certainly could not possibly be
seen as one of them (except perhaps by your whorish camp
follower -- JPB). You should realize how hollow your
words were here... and how you try to piously and pompously
try to posture yourself within the cloak of that emptiness.
I am only trying to help you understand yourself, 'bob,' so you
might better help yourself, so please accept this as simply a
lesson in proper communication techniques. I do not intend
to feed you a fish... but hope to teach you how to fish.

You say nothing of specific substance, but everything about
murderers. You have, in your words, certainly claimed that
murderers DO provide some "benefit" for our species
(since EVERYONE includes murderers). But you have
said nothing specific about the benefit itself. Thus, one
could assume the most absurd behavior imaginable is
considered by you to be a "benefit." Obviously, it needs
some work on your part to provide meaningful information.
And I wonder if you would turn your archive on when and
if you provide what that particular "benefit" is, that you
believe murderers provide for our species?

Now, I hate to keep pinning you to the wall, in your
pseudo-intellectual outbursts of sanctimonious horseshit, but
could you be more specific? What specific benefit do
you believe murderers provide for our species? Or is it as
I have already surmised... that you support _culling the
herd_ of potential innocent victims, as a "benefit"?
