Actual Real Skydiving Issue

Essentially, the TSA is looking into implementing a rule that will
make it very difficult to skydive out of any larger aircraft, like
Casa's, DC-3, Caribous, C-130's, anything over12500lbs.
If this rule (Docket No. TSA-2008-0021) goes into effect, then every
time we jump out of a larger aircraft in the USA, we would basically
be required to go through the same security checks as you would for
any charter or scheduled flight anywhere else in the USA.
That means, security screening, passenger security checks, matching
names with 'no-fly lists' and so on. And we would have to do that for
EVERY load, not just people in general or a Boogie in general.
I urge everyone to read the details and give comment to the TSA.

or its then Navy variant the RD3 twice and oh yeah the Navy C1A often

Concern is a word more apt but if you want to engage the o'l

can say that it was fun and it would be a shame if it were no longer
possible due to the TSA being "afraid." Of course, had I been

civilian airline passenber security checkpoints for anyone wishing to

skydiver and there's no denying this truth. Further, whether they or
anyone "serve (their) country," aside from being totally beside the
present point, has absolutely ~no bearing~ on how the TSA proposal
would be enforced. In other words, wackjob, the skydiver who "served"
who shows up at the boogie or dz looking to jump out of such an
aircraft would still not be able to because the aircraft would ~not be
there~ because providing infrastructure, security, ect. to match
present civilian passenger airline control on a dropozne would make
providing such aircraft for skydiving cost prohibitive. You might
want to read up before you start flapping your pie hole, wackjob.

I think not, its up to the particular commanders----but for moral and
welfare I'm sure the military will see to it their jumpers get big
plane time other than S/L...If not there are other routes for all the
branchs....the kids can go out for MFF training

fat ass. The reality is, if it becomes cost prohibitive to bring big
aircraft to dropzones and boogies, let alone for aircraft leasing
businesses, even skydivers who are in the military will not be able to
jump these aircraft at dropzones and boogies - because they won't be

simply a TSA proposal so have you contacted the TSA and comented how
much you approve of their proposal yet? Or is your line of crap

this country I can go jump in other countries - done it before. But
it will still suck for skydivers in this country, including servicemen
wanting to make civilian jumps in this country out of large aircraft
at a dz or boogie, who might not be able to get overseas.

If the TSA proposal becomes implemented, it won't just be me, wackjob,
but every skydiver in the US - but I know that doesn't matter to you
as the important thing for you is to clutch to the idea that one who

What is your problem with this ruling, Are you on a no fly list? The

I see it effecting is DC-3's and CASA's. There used to be a C-boo at a
DZ up around Fort Worth that traveled around in Texas back in the Mid
90's, Haven't heard of it lately....Even back then business was hard
for rear ramp aircraft
that hosted hard core formation people because they like to present to

Coming off a ramp is entirely different for hooked up civilian FF
groups...you scatter to the wind like seed pods at planting time. Oh
its good enough for putting volume of jumpers out but not relative
work. After one jump all of the formation
jumpers were screaming......"FLY THE OTTER!" Well the DZO couldn't
very well
do that after making a deal with the C-boo owner to load him out if he
brought it down. If you think the Military is going to lease a C-130
out just to satisfy self

The Phoenix program was farmed out by list to CoVans with suspects in
their area.
The program itself started out as a good idea, capture PLF/NLF
members----Then it went straight to kill them....The CIA and military
hot shots stationed in Saigon and DaNang soon found out they were the
ones getting killed when they got out in the countryside and begin
sending lists out to the Advisor's living among the people (Because
they had dreams of surviving their tours and writing books). I'll tell
you another reason the Phoenix program went to crap.....If one VN owed
another VN money or otherwise had a hard on for them they reported
them as
enemy agents---Why not, the Americans step in and do the dirty work of
neutralizing their problem. Same thing happened in Afghanistan in case
you weren't paying attention. U.S. says we pay hard cash for
terrorists, Warlords start snatching anybody they don't like and
selling them to the U.S. as terrorists.
We put them in Gitmo, torture them etc and then let them go later...If
they weren't terrorists to start with they damn sure are now...You

airspace but we never caught any flack over it. The inverted cake had
been replaced by a cylinder all the way to altutude and remained that
way for about six months, but reason prevailed and it relaxed back to

proposal if adopted would not just create paperwork but would, pay
attention dumbass: make skydiving out of large aircraft unviable due
to costs to airplane owners, dealers, and leasing entities refitting
their aircraft to be in TSA security compliance and because of costs
to the dropzone in implemeting infrastructure to security check each
and every skydiver prior to boarding such an aircraft each and every
skydive, including ID check, metal detections, explosive reside swabs,
and referencing ID against a TSA no fly list. Cost to refit aircraft
will be passed on to the people leasing or buying the aircraft, and on
to the skydiver. Cost for implemeting TSA security infrastructure
would be be passed on to the skydiver. Cost for having such an
aircraft at a dropzone not flying as much as it could due to time
spent on the ground before every load while completing an ID and
security check prior to boarding on every skydiver jumping that
aircraft would be passed on to the skydiver. Large aircraft skydives
would become prohibitively expensive for skydivers and therefore,
unviable.

the security screenings that are presently required to fly on an
airliner. Presentation of ID and documenting said presentation,
referencing ID against a no fly database, metal detection, searches

quarrentine area for people cleard to board or be bear the aircraft,
standard questions regarding whether your baggage is yours and has it
been left unattended in the recent past. And all this to be
accomplished for each and every passenger before each and every load,
no matter if somone has already been through the screening earlier in
the day. Read the proposal, dumbass.

This docket is only important to owners of Aircraft over 12,500 pounds
and boogie organizers who hope to make money off the sport and a few
terrorists or other wanted people and it won't be a big deal to
them....The sport has had manifest software for a while now...just an
adjustment here and there and there to tweak it into government no fly
lists...FBI, Interpol & local law enforcement wanted lists etc etc
etc, many of the manifest programs red flag repack dates already so
you can apparently program them to red flag anything. Only way I see
it effecting a buck for you booty boy is if you move further West or
someone plants a CASA in south Texas...If you are not wanted or on any
no fly lists I don't see why you are suffering a knee jerk over this
effort to tweak public safety.

The CIA may have developed the program but being mostly Ivy league
types they didn't like to get down and rub shoulders with the
peasants. The military had two man teams they would send out to the
local area's but their targets faded into the jungle. The locals being
used to seeing us around daily and weekly felt more relaxed...We could
generally walk right up to a unsuspecting target. The way the Navy
used to work was if a Officer didn't want to deal with a odious order
he passed it on to his leading petty officer and said....."Handle it."
Most had been broken in and shown the ropes by Division level petty
officers when they first reported to the fleet as ensigns and were
assigned as JDO's to Engineering, guns, operations or whatever plus
overloading them with miscellaneous responsibility's nobody else
wanted like moral officer, boat officer, mess officer plus standing
bridge watches ~these young officers were maxed out~ and were to
depending on L.P.O's.'s to handle shit. Beings the field teams OIC was
just a LT. he often turned to me and said----"take care of this." I'd
look at it and think......"I know this guy, his family the whole 9
yards, his son, grandson or son in law is on one of my boat crews."
and I'd say, "no sweat Sir--got it covered". Go have dinner with the
target and say. "you need to move to another providence till this
blows over". My team Officers didn't mind....They were both University
of Berkley graduates and thinkers anyway....A non engineering degree
wouldn't get a Officer far in the fleet but liberal and fine arts
degree's or one in a science like Philosophy or Psychology did fine
for our type of grass roots war.
