Burr
If you want to know about the inside and HOW it works then go for it.
IF like me I turn it on and enjoy what comes out. My joy is keeping records,
knowing what is going on where and why. I only listen to the news and a
little of the local music.
This is what SWL is to me. I have done this all over the world night and
day. I am doing it right now, I may be in China with my old YB400 next
month, I may be on the beach with a long wire hanging in palm trees next
week. I have a little oil lamp so I can read the schedules I down loaded and
printed before I started out. I may turn the lamp out and just listen to
Asian Music and watch the lamps on the little fishing boats with a ship
going by from time to time, an airplane racing to an airport some place or
watching the Satellites cross over head.
SWL is what YOU want it to be!!!!
I have enjoyed my short-wave radios for 52 years and I still do.

Sure, most of the remote-controlled receivers on the Web can do 11m/CB.
The ones that I have used (besides my own online receiver) are in upstate
NY, NC, FL and MN. Search the Web for "web controlled receiver". Also
check the Yahoo Web Receiver group and Lost DXers' Forum. I haven't looked
for new ones in awhile, perhaps you'll find some in other parts of the U.S.
