the easiest way to begin to create/write a story is...

to describe a day in the life of a person from the moment they wake up
until about a week later.

once you're done with that part, you'll have enough stories and
character studies for at least ten novels.

of course, it's only "easier" to create a story using this method in
the sense that it would be harder to do so using only a spoon and a
rock to sketch out ideas in the dirt.
