well, among many other reasons...
because he lies about his abortion stand.
just to get votes.
that dude who interviewed him about it on Sunday made this perfectly
clear when he "failed" to ask McCain the obvious follow-up question

elaborate any further on the matter.

That and he lied about violating the cone of silence while he was in
the motorcade with his staff.
What a Georgian.
Zero is right. McCain is nothing but a democrat in republican garb.
(DIRG). He will lie to get votes just like any other democrat. I am
embarrassed for him. However, he is not a muslim, and that's a plus for
him. Vote McCain and say to to Islam.

a political crossdresser?
why is your mind always in the closet, Geno?
anyway, nope. he's way worse than merely a political crossdresser.
he's intentionally misleading the anti-abortion people therefore
clawing his way to the presidency through a mountain of slaughtered
fetuses.

well, he's just like George W., at any rate.
sure, democrats are major wimps like W too, but at least they don't
pretend to be tough guys.

he's obviously pro-choice but is deceptively and evily posturing that
he is strongly against abortion and intends on making it illegal --
just to deceive the gullible religious right voters.
anyway, no matter what you personally believe about the abortion

do you know anyone who isn't brainwashed in some major way?
http://groups.google.com/group/misc.writing/msg/e7e5cefd6783b71a
and what's worse is that the McCain managment knows full well that
once the gullible religious right start yakking up their support of
McCain they will be incapable of reversing their positions because
they are generally incapable of admitting that they've made an error
in judgement -- particularly after they've publically stated their
support for a particluar candidate to anyone else -- mostly due to the
fact that they gullibly believe that their decision to support a
certain candidate was something willed by an inerring God as opposed
to a manipulatively deceptive Karl Rove and the boys.
and even worse than that is that there will be many many women who
take comfort in believing that McCain is pro-choice.
McCain manangement knows that they will somehow excuse his totally
dishonest mainpulative pandering to the religious nutcases as a
"necessary evil" of politics while totally ignoring what such a deep
level of dishonesty that says about his character.
if you cannot believe what someone says about such a serious issue as
who has human rights and who doesn't, how can you support their
presidential ambitions?
after all, being the president gives that person the ultimate civil
"authority" to determine who's human rights can be violated and who's
cannot.
so if McCain is lying about his belief that legal human rights ought
to begin at conception, what the fuck else is he lying about?
as president, his main responsibility is to make sure that the human
rights of Americans are NOT violated.
their rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
if he says that human rights should be granted at conception and does
not make a solemn promise to issue an executive order banning ALL
abortions on the very day he takes office, he cannot be trusted about
anything else he says.
why the "religious" right leaders don't take him to task on this
should be fairly obvious to almost everyone except the gullible flocks
that they manipulate each election cycle.

anyway, if pressed, even if McCain says that abortion should be a
state rights thinger rather than a federal law, it proves that he's
actually pro-choice and not pro-life.
why the mainstream media doesn't even try to educate the flocks about
what a manipulate slimy liar that McCain is should be troubling to
anyone with an IQ over 70.

You're assuming that McCain is really pro-choice and just mouthing the
words the party wants to hear. Ever consider you might be wrong?

well, he's definitely mouthing the words the party wants to hear.
and he's also allowing the perception that he's pro-choice to stand.
but note my use of the word "if" above.
anyway...
if McCain is NOT pro-choice and he truly believes in what he says to
his money people, then he should have no problem making a campaign
pledge to issue an executive order to make abortion a crime of murder
just moments after swearing in.

i'm probably wrong about 1% of the time.
but one thing i'm not wrong about is McCain's use of deception.
unlike Obama, he's pretending to be a total comfort to both sides.
he doesn't have enough courage and honesty to live up to his "straight
talk express".

I'm not going to worry about abortion, because I think the laws are
fine the way they are, and there's no way to predict if either
candidate would do something to change them.

You could equally see him as quite honorably having his own views but
being willing to put them aside because they do not match those of the
people he serves.

Obama is signally dishonest. They make a fine pair.

Obama is a centre-right corporate shill who postured as a progressive
to win the Democratic nomination and is now showing his true colours
to get himself elected.
