pointless request for a round of nicey nicey week

and no, i don't mean be uncharacteristically sweet and fake.

keep mocking, by all means -- you're all quite talented and
entertaining in that regard.

just seriously consider redirecting it away from those who obviously
can't handle it.

(as evidenced by the escalating ugliness).

stop.

or at least see if you have the discipline to do so for at least an
hour, if not a full day, let alone a week.

no matter how slimey and hurtful the asshole(s) have been.

at least give them a fucking snowball's chance in hell to experience
some genuine contrition.

i'm sure you're smart enough to realize that it requires some
breathing room, at the very least.

any more torture now is nothing more than sadism and it certainly will
not help anything get any better.

on the contrary.

nor will continued torture lessen any of the stupid damage that's
already been done.

...

if you really want to go all out, try being helpful to the asshole(s)
in a way that does not condone nor enable their transgressions in any
way whatsoever .

well, ok, that's clearly not a feasible option, you're not that
creative (nor am i), but i thought you might enjoy the amusing
absurdity of the ridiculous suggestion.

...

ok.

pointless request completed.

carry on.

Geezus You're not hoping for an outbreak of sanity and civility around
here are you?

We had one of those last year and it damn near killed Haddad.

Geno ended up crying to his cats,

Sylvia baked a cake.

Geko was off raw meat for a month.

Some folks took up serious drinking.

I think you are aiming way too high.

Although, I admire that in a person.

Nice request.

But, why choose "nicey nicey?" In terms of the word choice, doesn't
that set the tone for mocking niceness?

When I came back to the newsgroup I was perplexed because it was
different than I remembered. I've since learned there are some people
who live for the mocking, the flames, the etc etc. And, as I've said
before (and you say here) many of them are "quite talented and
entertaining in that regard."

There are actually quite a few people (including those who really
groove on the hating) who have had lots of interesting things to say
about all sorts of nice things, even in the midst of the most recent
flare.

An senior citizen with an imaginary cat farm announced today that his
personal boycott of a social gathering was a outstanding success,
enabling him to realize a savings of "perhaps a tank of gas and
intrusive questions about so-called pre-need planning." He's scheduled
other absences in the very, extremely, close, immediate, near future and
is on the record expecting similar savings.

In a related story, persons who did attend the gathering referenced
reported a 67% decline in tableware missing and said that for the first
time in years they were able to be present and hear nothing but English
spoken at the party.
