on your feet all day

...

for obvious reasons, writers sit on their asses quite a bit.

there IS something you can do about that, though.

but it takes discipline.

and a sense of humor.

and creativity.

and a bit of insanity.

...

instead of sitting down writing all day, stand up and do so.

...

raise your keyboard to counter height.

or put your laptop in a modified shopping cart of some sort and keep
walking around.

yep.

...

the first hour is one of the hardest.

(competing discomfortwise only with the fifth hour).

by the tenth hour, you're so delirious that you no longer notice how
absurd it all is.

...

but the best time of all is when you find yourself in the zone after
only a months worth of doing this every day.

I use a Bluetooth telepathic connection so I can nap all day.

Oh fucking brilliant. The creative genius comes up with an idea that's only centuries old.

Sir Thomas More worked standing up. Look him up. So did Donald Rumsfeld, because of a back complaint. I expect you know who he is.

That's about 500 years it's been around, and still being used. Tell you what, why don't you invent something round that carts could roll along on?

I don't believe you. No way you would wait a month to post about it.

actually, standing up on your own two feet dates quite a bit further
back than that, Alan.

amazing!

i've seen the movie.

several times.

it's a classic.

poor guy.

have they made a movie about him yet?

you're forgetting about Fred Flintstone and the boys.

I do that. Or did, when I used to write. I found I was standing up and
pacing around so often it just made sense to put the keyboard on the
bookshelf beside the monitor.

So I tried it.

I walked into a rail and broke the screen off my laptop. I jumped back
and fell backwards down the stairs. The screen of the laptop fell to
the first floor and severed my dog's head. My wife came to see what
was wrong and slipped in the dog's blood and broke her leg.

Great idea.

Another post where I wonder how much time it took to pull it together.
Choosing better words, better visuals, etc. It's so good as it is (as
evidenced by my once again embarrassing myself in a coffeeshop LOLing),
and it seems effortless.

firstly, you're supposed to be flattering moi, not Bill.

secondly, i posted the question more than 24 hours ago.

obviously it took Bill a whole day to write that bit because he's
clearly talking from firsthand experience.

which is why it's not as funny as you seem to think.

especially for poor Fido.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that he responded positively to
Heather/serenebabe's "Wah! I'm a poor widdle victim!" MW MIGS email campaign
a few months ago.

except for that look she gets in her eyes while making a wide berth
when she's walking past the stairs.
