Rotten Apple:
What I Hate About The Mac
3) No Cut and Paste in the Finder - Before I start, I
understand the motivation for utilizing drag and drop. And
for the most part, I love using drag an drop. But when I'm
moving a file from one folder nested in
Adam/Documents/Important/Files/Taxes/NotReallyTaxes/Games/
MoveThis.file all the way to Adam/Movies/Films/A-F/Crappy
Movies/ThisFileWas.moved, Drag and Drop isn't the best
option. Even if it isn't called cut and paste (I'm aware of
the problem with the name scheme), call it "Sticky Move" or
"Smart Move" or something. Just include it.
A demo of the feature in Windows:
<http://tmp.gallopinginsanity.com/cut-paste.mov>
Sandman:
This works in Snow Leopard at least.
But there is no such feature in Snow Leopard - or any other version of OS X.
Sandman was wrong.
Wally:
Based on the fact that Fa-groon said that the actual term was
irrelevant Sandman rightly chose the term that suited the
action described to comment on...copy/paste
But, of course, copy/paste is *not* the same as the feature Rotten Apple
talked about: "Cut and Paste". So Wally was wrong, too.
Not that big of a deal... but Wally cannot deal with his error. Instead he
spews such claims clearly contradictory to fact as:
Wally:
There is no Google record that will show Sandman stating that
SL has the feature of cutting a file!
Wally:
Note... Snit openly admits that whilst using OS X he has
never found a feature that would allow him to relocate a file
from one location to another without resorting to drag/drop!
Wally:
Then you clearly did not understand that RA was merely asking
for a method to move a file from one location to another! RA
even stated that it makes no difference what the method used
was called!
Now can this silliness end, Wally. Please. You were wrong... let it go.

Why are you always seen trying to stuff words into people's mouths,
Snit? Is it because your reading comprehension is so poor? Or is there
another reason? In this quote you have shown I don't see Sandman
calling this a shipping feature IN Snow Leopard like you are trying
to pretend. All he says is it "works in Snow Leopard"... and if you
run a utility like On My Command (which is SL compatible) or similar
then, in fact, it "works in Snow Leopard at least", exactly as
Sandman said. HInt: "works in" (what he said) -vs-. a shipping
feature in (what you tried to pretend he said). It's all about
context, Snit... you know, that thing you get confused with
constantly.
(snip additional crap by the utterly confused "Snit")
I see Snit is still on his high horse regarding copying and
pasting issues, which are an extremely minor issue and to most a
non-existent issue.
He is one of the few that I seen that can make molehills into
mountains.
I've got him kill binned for now and a good reason. Nothing he
says is worth reading. Nothing he says is worth replying to.
Perhaps the reason why he defaulted to education is that no one
would accept him for serious production work.

The issue Sandman got wrong is minor... not sure why Wally and Tim and Steve
are making such a big deal over it. It does not, however, relate to *copy*
and paste but to *cut* and paste.
Interesting to see, above, Steve disagreeing so strongly with Wally. I bet
they will *never* talk about their disagreement - they are merely trolling
me and making up lies to pretend I am wrong about my disagreement with
Sandman. My disagreement is well supported and solid:

You, of course, will simply lie and troll over this, too. Face it, you are
not interested in the truth.
> He is one of the few that I seen that can make molehills into

I have repeatedly said Sandman's error was no big deal.

You claim to have me kill filtered but also claim to know what I say... but
the trolls you respond to snip most of my content. Clearly you are not
being honest here.

"It "works in Snow Leopard at least", exactly as Sandman said."-Steve
Carroll
Snit will point out how exactly the above from Steve Carroll disagrees with
my consistently stating that Sandman was correct in 1...2...3...(don't wait
up!) LOL
You keep claiming Sandman was in reference to *copy* and paste... which he
was not.
Carroll claimed that Sandman was in reference to third party software...
which he was not.
Your silly claims - your desperate attempts to defend your clique - are
contradictory... and both clearly dishonest, as shown by the quotes you run
from:

That I pointed to an example that proves Snit wrong doesn't conflict
with what you've written in any way. Snit is trying to sell this bull
to hide the fact that the only error made was his. LOL!
... stated it "works in Snow Leopard at least". And that's true. I
showed one way that you were obviously unaware of. It's strange how a
guy who claims himself to be a "computer teacher" or "IT teacher"...
or whatever you fancy yourself to be as you're posing... was not aware
of the existence of third party utilities like 'On My Command'. Then
again, when that guy is you maybe it's not all that strange after
all ;)
"Apple is pushing how green this is - but it [Macbook Air] is clearly
disposable... when the battery dies you can pretty much just throw it
away". - Snit
LOL!
Cut and Paste does not work in the finder Steve.

Of course it does not. Heck, Steve even knows this - admitting you need
third party software (something I noted before he did, just to be clear).
Steve will never admit to this, of course, nor will he admit he is
completely contradicting Wally's claim that the fact the Finder has file
*copy* and paste somehow makes Sandman right about *cut* and paste. And
neither Wally nor Carroll will admit Tim Adams was a complete fool to claim
Sandman was not wrong simply because Adams can clip clearly essential
context.
The three of them will continue to tap dance and nit pick and look for side
issues to "win"... but they will not admit to the simple and clear fact that
Sandman was wrong.
They are complete morons.
Gee, ya' think? :)

The complaint: "No [file] Cut and Paste in the Finder"
Sandman's claim: "This works in Snow Leopard at least."
The fact is the Finder does *not* have this feature. Never been there in
any public version of Mac OS (which is not to say it should be!).
Wally claims since the Finder has file *copy* and paste this
somehow makes Sandman not be wrong about *cut* and paste.
Steve Carroll claims since he agrees with me that third party
software can add this feature to OS X this somehow makes
Sandman not be wrong.
Tim Adams claims since he can snip relevant context this
somehow makes Sandman not be wrong.
Sandman's error is not a big deal, of course - but funny to see how Wally,
Carroll and Tim Adams prove me right time and time again about their silly
grade school clique. They truly cannot help but prove me right over and
over and over. They pretend to not see this... I wonder if they really are
as blind as they claim.
Soon they will insist that since I have replied to their BS repeatedly this
somehow makes me wrong. Wait for it. :)

My lawn isn't green any longer, "Omar".
... after 5+ years Snit still can't comprehend what he reads.
Your brain is not functioning any longer, "dog".
OS X has no ability to cut and paste files. A 2 second look at the control
menu tells you this.
and snit jumps in, once again proving he can't read, and at the same time
posting a link to a post by himself, a person that has been proven to alter
quotes, forge documents and lie isn't any sort of support for your claim snit.
~more babbling by the trolling idiot michael glasser, aks snit, snipped
Of course. Sandman was wrong... and his clique is going *insane*... um,
more insane... to try to defend him / belittle me.
They are just serving to show how insane they are. Again.

Not only can I read, I *wrote* the post with the info that proves you and
your clique wrong. Please note where you have *no* counter to my arguments
- just personal attacks.

For what, Snit? To get it to 'work in' Snow Leopard? Thanks for
admitting to your error you made when you claimed Sandman was wrong
when he stated it "works in Snow Leopard".
Tim has given up even pretending to have something interesting to say.
This arguement is stupid. OS X does not do what Sandman said it does. Why
is this even worthy of more than two posts?
Are you really as illiterate as you act?
To see how pathetic the "clique" becomes. They can be quite funny... though
not intentionally.

He just wants to be counted by his clique as being in the "support"
column... he knows he made a fool of himself, but wants to show how much he

... sure?
Of course...that was Snit clearly indicating that he's aware the
feature "works in Snow Leopard"... just as Sandman said it does. You
didn't catch that? What, are you really as illiterate as you act?
