I was going to connect multiple Xtion sensors into one PC.
The motherboard USB configuration was able to support two sensors. To
add support for additional sensors I installed PCIe USB cards. This
worked on my test workstation (using older, USB 2.0 adapters in PCI
slots) so I was surprised when the new setup failed to recognize the
sensors (code 10 fail when connected)
I have tried two different PCIe USB 3.0 cards from two different
manufacturers hoping that it was just a (USB card) driver fluke:
attempt 1: Syba SD-PEX-20047
http://www.sybausa.com/productInfo.php?iid=27
attempt 2: Azio AUDU3
http://www.aziocorp.com/product/peripheral/pci-pcie/audu3.htm
both with the same results. If I plug the depth camera into a USB port
on the PC, it works. If I plug any depth camera into a PCIe USB 3.0
card, it fails to initialize the device.
these are both USB 3.0 cards because that's what I could get my hands
on in short notice. They are supposedly USB 2.0 backwards compatible
and I confirmed that they work with other devices such as mouse,
keyboard.
has anyone had any similar experiences using PCIe USB host cards and
Xtion sensor compatibility?
