From a different thread in this group ("How to code a formatter"):

To further emphasize Fred's recommendation:

The general TiddlyWiki GG is best for questions and discussions
related to *using* TiddlyWiki, which includes discussions of basic
formatting and macro syntax, stylesheets (CSS), and templates (TW-
enhanced HTML), and may also include *limited* discussions about
javascript programming techniques, especially as related to "evaluated
macro parameters" or dynamically-generated tiddler content (using
InlineJavascriptPlugin).

However, in the interests of not overwhelming newbies and non-
programmers with the details of highly technical topics, the
TiddlyWikiDev GG is a *much* better place for discussions related to
writing javascript code extensions for TW, which includes plugins that
define/modify macros, formatters, toolbar commands, backstage tweaks,
etc. as well as suggestions for changes/additions to the TW core code
itself (e.g., patches, bug fixes, performance enhancements, etc.)

This distinction may help address some of the concerns noted in the
recent "TiddlyWiki Newbie/Beginners group needed" thread:
