Subject: USLDCC CHOREOGRAPHY COMPETITION RESULTS FROM FUN IN THE SUN, ORLANDO, FL

From: JEN CAMERON

Fun in the Sun kicked off the first USLDCC event of the season, and what an incredible start it was!
With 37 competition entries, we were treated to an amazing display of talent. It was exciting to welcome so many new faces while also seeing several returning competitors back on the floor.
The energy, creativity, and passion on display made for a fantastic kickoff, and we can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store. Congratulations to everyone who competed—we're looking forward to watching you grow throughout the year! Next stop on the circuit...BLISS - August 13-16. https://www.nvlinedance.com/bliss

NOTE FROM ME:  If you have ever considered showing off your choreography talents, this is a great way to get started. There have been so many people who have participated and grown as a choreographer and person just from competing, getting feedback and encouragement from the judges while building friendships with your fellow competitors.  I have seen many of them join in to demo the dances even though they are competitors themselves and it always make me happy.  I have also seen MANY of the people who have competed many times without winning who have gone on to be very popular on the dance circuit and being invited to teach at workshops all over because they have hung in there and looked at each competition as a valuable lesson and used the feedback to improve for the next time -- in fact, these are my favorites because I truly respect that they never gave up getting better.  If you are interested, just go to this link and read the rules and I will be cheering you on at every event I attend because I always watch the competition and realize how difficult it is to step out of your comfort zone but IT IS WORTH IT!!  You don't even have to get out there alone.  You can ask your friends to join you as you compete.  It was great seeing the number of competitors this weekend.  Good job, everyone, and congrats to the people who won in their categories.

Subject: Note from Rachael McEnaney-White about FITS this past weekend

(I was going to write a report but I think she said it so well! I will add a shorter report tomorrow.)

Well… I’m not entirely convinced I’ll be able to get out of bed tomorrow. 😅😂
What a brilliant weekend at Fun in the Sun! ☀️💃 My body aches from head to toe, I definitely stayed up waaaay too late dancing both nights… and somehow I still wouldn’t change a thing!
I barely took any photos this weekend (which is unlike me!), so if you happened to capture any with me in them, please send them over! I’d love to share them. 🙏🏻
A massive thank you to everyone who came along to my workshops. I truly appreciate every single one of you!

One of the coolest parts of the weekend was seeing so many line dance classics being taught and danced again. It was amazing watching dances that many of us have loved for years make a comeback, while introducing them to a whole new generation of dancers. Seeing packed floors full of people—some reliving old memories and others discovering these classics for the very first time—was really special. I hope we keep bringing them back!
Cody and Dustin absolutely nailed the show concept. Huge credit to both of them! And then there was the Spice Girls… 🤣 Jamie, John, Roy, Fiona and I had an absolute blast. I’m still laughing at Roy confidently squeezing himself into my leopard-print outfit that’s somehow survived over 25 years! 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ I definitely never imagined that outfit would make a comeback!
One of the biggest highlights for me was our kids’ classes. These amazing kids had under four hours spread across two days to learn an entire routine, and they absolutely smashed it. So many pushed themselves outside their comfort zones, and I couldn’t be prouder. Even all of my boys got involved! ❤️ I’ll post the performance video soon because they deserve their moment.
Watching these kids grow up year after year is honestly one of my favorite parts of weekends like this. Seeing their confidence blossom is pretty special… although I do wish they’d stop growing quite so quickly because they’re making me feel ancient! 😂
A huge thank you to Jennifer Cameron for yet another fantastic event. Great dancing, great laughs, great people… and probably not enough sleep. ❤️
Now it’s time to unpack, repack, and somehow convince my legs to work again…
🇬🇧 Next stop: England for World Dance Masters! ✈️💃

How to Vote in the Weekly Survey

List up to 8 of your favorites with choreographer and level if you know it and email to me at tka...@aol.com before 6:30 PM EDT on Sunday. Please add the choreographer and level of the dance if you know it.

Reminder from Carol

Please do not number the votes 1-8, send me extra things, or put the name on one line and the other information on another line, it saves me time because I have to erase all extra things and spacing and formatting before I can sort. Thanks, as always, for your votes. Classes, socials, and events are starting again and we NEED to know what dances most people will know or want to know so your vote is important.
