BLISS 2025 — What. A. Weekend! 😍✨ #blissnv
I just got back from the Biggest Little Iconic Summer Stompdown (BLISS) — and WOW, what an event! I’m sitting at the airport trying to collect my thoughts (and my sore feet 🦶😂), but I couldn’t wait to share. Short version? BLISS was amazing. Sierra & Dustin were amazing. I’m honored to have been part of it all. ⸻ Registration & Raffle Fun 🎟️ Check-in was lightning fast — I don’t think I’ve seen a line move that quickly in years! Every packet had bonus info and chances to earn raffle tickets. Attendees played line dance bingo, completed fun challenges, and cashed in tickets for a chance to win prizes like event passes, BLISS swag, and more. Such a cool way to get everyone mingling — with each other and the instructors. (If we took a photo together, drop it in the comments so I can see! 📸) ⸻ The Hotel = A Line Dancer’s Paradise 🏨 This wasn’t just a hotel — it felt like a full-on resort. Huge ballrooms, comfy rooms, tons of food options… and yes, they even had an escape room (you know I couldn’t resist 😏). That makes escape room #66 for me! ⸻ Workshops, Chats, & Dances 🕺💃 From absolute beginner to advanced phrased dances — plus technique classes and instructor chats — BLISS had it all. I loved co-hosting a session with Amy & Darren Bailey on Instructor Tips & Tricks. Thirty minutes flew by way too fast! The dances I taught: 🔥 Nothing on the Wild (me) 🔥 Sweet Tsunami Symphony (me) 🔥 Twenty Two (Michelle Risley) 🔥 Bring It to Mama (me & Scott Blevins) 🔥 Cheeseburger (Sheila Bernstein) ⸻ Meeting Amazing People ❤️ This was my first west coast weekend event, and I met so many kind, welcoming faces. A ton of attendees were at their very first line dance weekend — which makes my heart so happy for BLISS and our entire dance community. ⸻ My Vendor Table = Wiped Out! 🛍️ I flew in with a 52-lb bag… and left with just 24 lbs. 😳 You all cleared me out by Friday morning! Thank you for grabbing shirts, fans, asking about my travel business, and chatting about upcoming line dance cruises. 👉 If you missed out or have questions, check out dancewithcody.com or email me at dancew...@gmail.com. ⸻ BLISS Choreography Competition 📝 This was my first time judging where we actually learned the dances as part of the process — I loved it! Huge shoutout to the competitors for being brave and sharing your work. Dustin & Sierra even created a judging rubric to give clear, fair feedback. Loved the structure! ⸻ USLDCC @ BLISS = RECORD ENTRIES! 🎉 I’ll always and forever deeply cherish this choreography competition because it allowed myself and so many of my colleagues an opportunity to share our choreography, grow, and enter the event circuit as instructors. In fact, BLISS’s staff had 4 previous competitors and, of course, Dustin & Sierra are the current reining champions! If you wanted to see, below are the list of winners: Beginner/Improver 🥈 I Don’t Give a Buck (IDGAB) — Kaisa Wagner & Casey Sharples 🥇 Rock Step and Roll — Lisa Wetzler Intermediate/Advanced 🥈 One Life — Aurora Otto 🥇 Duck & Slide — Kaisa Wagner & Casey Sharples Phrased 🥈 Beep — Ray Okuda 🥇 Run Boy Run — Lisa Wetzel ⸻ Thank You, Sierra & Dustin 🙌 You pulled off your first ever event with 500 dancers — and it ran flawlessly. I’m still in awe of your energy and heart. I can’t wait to see BLISS grow even bigger in 2026! ⸻ If BLISS wasn’t on your radar this year, put it there NOW. Passes sell out fast — and trust me, you don’t want to miss this one. If you read this far, you’re the real MVP! 🏆 Thank you for supporting me, this event, and the entire line dance community. You make weekends like this unforgettable. 💖 -- Cody Flowers

How to Vote in the Weekly Survey List up to 8 of your favorites with choreographer and level if you know it and email to me at tka...@aol.com before 6:30 PM EDT on Sunday. Please add the choreographer and level of the dance if you know it. |
Reminder from Carol Please do not number the votes 1-8, send me extra things, or put the name on one line and the other information on another line, it saves me time because I have to erase all extra things and spacing and formatting before I can sort. Thanks, as always, for your votes. Classes, socials, and events are starting again and we NEED to know what dances most people will know or want to know so your vote is important. |
