Subject: Potluck Social Info for This Saturday in Sarasota, FL
From: John Dembiec

Part 1

** IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT THE POTLUCK SOCIAL THIS SATURDAY**

First is that the studio will be done for us to dance on this Saturday. YEAH!!!!!

Unfortunately, this comes with a very important stipulation by the owner. It cost $30K for the floor being refinished. She wanted it done next week, but the person/company who did the work was only available this week and is very specific about this. This company does dance floors and arena floors all around the country and said the following. "The coating will be soft and needs some time for the curing to set in. It will only be about 85% curred. Therefore, ONLY Suede bottom dance shoes or socks will be allowed. And if your wearing suede shoes, please make sure that the heel is sueded too."

It was explained to me that will actually help the floor cur faster.

Tennis shoes, cowboy boots, leather bottom shoes and street shoes are not allowed, including Fuegos or other types of dance shoe without a suede bottom. 2nd, I asked about sock sleeves and they too are not allowed because as people we walk heel first and that could still damage the floor. 3rd, shoe covering to protect the shoes will only be allowed as you walk in. They can only be worn to get to your seat and then immediately changed into the proper shoes. Again explained to me that these types shoes will pull up the finish and ruin the floor.

If you have old socks that can cover your shoes, I definitely recommend to go with that. You can also buy extra large socks to do the same. To assist people who can't find anything, I'll have purchased 30 dance shoe coverings available if you need them. Just ask at the door when you arrive. These covering fit Women's size 5-9 and Men's size 3-8. But if you have the right shoes or socks that cover, that would be WONDERFUL. Since the floor won't be completely curred, wearing socks shouldn't make it too slippery.

I can't stress enough how important this is. If the owner feels that this not being adhered to, she will stop the dance and make us leave. I sincerely don't want that for anyone since this social is something I look forward to every year, and I know many of you feel the same.

Believe it or not, I love you all and want to have a great time. Please spread the word. Thank you to all of you in advance for understanding. ❤❤❤❤

Part 2

For those who can't attend physically to this week's social, I will be doing a live Zoom of it. Here's what you need to know.

Send an e-mail to: linedanc...@gmail.com for payment info. It will be $15 to join. Please have request for link in by 11AM on Saturday morning to allow time to send the link.

Broadcast will start around 12:45PM and go to 5PM. For information on the dances being done, please go to Sara Dance Line Dance Group for the playlist or see below. Hope you can join us from afar.

Part 3

Here is your playlist one more time for Saturday.

I will play 5-6 songs before 1pm as a warm up before the playlist starts. These dances too were all requested. If there's time at the end, I have 2 additional dances I can play. REMEMBER, at least 3 people must be dancing the dance, otherwise it will be faded out after the 1st chorus.

Warm-up songs: Stand By Me, Lonely Drum, Champagne Promise, Glass Of Wine, Cold Heart & A Bar Song.

Extra at the end: Around The Fire & Can't Catch Me

How to Vote in the Weekly Survey

List up to 8 of your favorites with choreographer and level if you know it and email to me at tka...@aol.com before 6:30 PM EDT on Sunday. Please add the choreographer and level of the dance if you know it.

Reminder from Carol

Please do not number the votes 1-8, send me extra things, or put the name on one line and the other information on another line, it saves me time because I have to erase all extra things and spacing and formatting before I can sort. Thanks, as always, for your votes. Classes, socials, and events are starting again and we NEED to know what dances most people will know or want to know so your vote is important.
