Subject: A Note from Jean Cain From: Carol Craven (from jeanc...@yahoo.com to me) I asked her permission to publish this note to me because I know she has many friends on here and on Facebook that have known her for many years. I know we all wish her the best. She said she will continue to follow the dance news so if you would like to contact her, I'm sure she would appreciate it.
"I regret that I had to retire a little earlier than I had planned due to a fall from the stage while I was teaching in May 2025. I think it was a hinge turn when I tripped and shot up in the air away from the stage landing on the dance floor first on my feet then bouncing up and forward on my knees, and finally resting on my left side. My only visible bruising was on my left thigh, left palm, and wrist. I am so blessed that I broke no bones even though I was 84, have osteoporosis and degenerative arthritis. I believe that dancing was what saved me from several broken bones. I was going to retire at the end of the year as I turn 85.
I was teaching three hours twice a week. I am gradually regaining my strength and mobility but can no longer do syncopation.
It has been a joy being a small part of The World Line Dance Newsletter group. Line dancers are the cream of the crop when it comes to good people. I will continue to follow and keep abreast of the dances, the news, the events, and the wonderful people."
Thank you for always being a good friend.
Jean Cain

How to Vote in the Weekly Survey List up to 8 of your favorites with choreographer and level if you know it and email to me at tka...@aol.com before 6:30 PM EDT on Sunday. Please add the choreographer and level of the dance if you know it. |
Reminder from Carol Please do not number the votes 1-8, send me extra things, or put the name on one line and the other information on another line, it saves me time because I have to erase all extra things and spacing and formatting before I can sort. Thanks, as always, for your votes. Classes, socials, and events are starting again and we NEED to know what dances most people will know or want to know so your vote is important. |
